The functionset_field_foresets the foreground attribute offield. This is the highlight used to display the field contents. The functionfield_forereturns the foreground attribute. The default isA_STANDOUT. The functionset_field_backsets the background attribute ofform. This is the highlight used to display the extent fields in the form. The functionfield_backreturns the background attribute. The default isA_NORMAL. The functionset_field_padsets the character used to fill the field. The functionfield_padreturns the given form's pad character. The default is a blank.
These routines return one of the following:E_OKThe routine succeeded.E_BAD_ARGUMENT Routine detected an incorrect or out-of-range argument.E_SYSTEM_ERROR System error occurred (seeerrno(3)).

These routines emulate the System V forms library. They were not supported on Version 7 or BSD versions.
