Censorship[]
- WhenTBS, prior to the creation ofCartoon Network, aired this cartoon, it was a redrawn version that cut the part near the end where the title character dances with two blackfaced dolls.[2][3]
Notes[]
- This is the firstMerrie Melodies short not to feature a recurring character (for exampleFoxy andPiggy being recurring characters in theMerrie Melodies series). In a few laterMerrie Melodies shorts, the series would feature another recurring character known asGoopy Geer. After three shorts featuring the character, non-recurring characters were maintained throughout the series until the late 1930s and early 1940s.
- Despite this, Piggy still appears at the ending drum. He would remain in the ending titles until "I Love a Parade".
- This cartoon entered the public domain in 1959 asUnited Artists did not renew the copyright in time.
