In 1994, Burnham Broadcasting soldWALA-TV and three other stations (KHON-TV in Honolulu,WVUE in New Orleans andWLUK-TV in Green Bay, WI) to SF Broadcasting (a joint venture of Savoy Communications andNews Corporation), who announced the four stations would becomeFox affiliates. WALA-TV's NBC affiliation moved to former Fox affiliate WPMI-TV in January 1996.

When WPMI revives the NBC 15 branding in 2017, it began to use the 2013 NBC logo and wordmark until March 30, 2024.

When the same 2017 "15" logo was kept by WPMI, it began to switch to the 2022 NBC peacock and wordmark in its logo on March 30, 2024 starting with the 10PM newscast.
