Ka2 started broadcdasting on January 31, 1995 as VTM's second channel, broadcasting from 6pm to near midnight. The channel catered niche audiences in its beginning (with limited highbrow and intellectual programming, as well as hit series likeThe X-Files andER), which led to its quick downfall.

1996–2002[]
Within months of launching, the channel was renamed Kanaal 2, resorted primarily to American series on the cheap and repositioned its demographics.

2002–2008[]
Kanaal 2 was renamed KanaalTwee in September 2002.
2BE[]
2008–2014[]
The rebrand gave 2BE a "face" as the channel, due to its constant number of foreign shows, was compared to a DVD player by its manager.
2014–2016[]
A new logo was announced on January 27, 2014, to be introduced in March.
Q2[]
2016–2020[]
2BE was renamedQ2 on August 28, 2016 to followQ-music's brand. Also keeps its slogan,You Make Us Q.
