MediaWiki to Latex Converter
by Hugo Vincent 18 Jun '12

18 Jun '12
Hi everyone,I recently set up a MediaWiki (http://server.bluewatersys.com/w90n740/) and I need to extra the content from it and convert it into LaTeX syntax for printed documentation. I have googled for a suitable OSS solution but nothing was apparent.I would prefer a script written in Python, but any recommendations would be very welcome.Do you know of anything suitable?Kind Regards,Hugo Vincent,Bluewater Systems.

Hi,today we came over 10k HTTP requests per second (even with inter-squidtraffic eliminated). Especially thanks to Mark and Tim, who've beenimproving our caching, as well as doing lots of other work, andachieved incredible results (while I was slacking). Really, thanks!Domas

It's just a first version and hasn't been tested much, butthe details can be found here:http://www.wikihow.com/WikiHow:RateArticle-ExtensionYou can see an example here on our development server:http://wiki16.wikidiy.com/Get-a-Better-Deal-on-a-Home-Loan(username password wikihow / wikihow2006) - scroll down to the bottomof the page for the checkmarks.I'd appreciate feedback if anyone has any. If someone wants to addthis to extensions in svn, that'd be great. Thanks,Travis

This archive contains all FeaturedPictures of 2006 and their licensing and description. This archive is550 MB big. Would it be possible to have it hosted ondownload.wikimedia.org?Thanks,Bryan[[:commons:User:Bryan]][1]http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Picture of the Year/2006[2]http://tools.wikimedia.de/~bryan/poty

Bad UTF-8
by Gregory Maxwell 04 Mar '07

04 Mar '07
One problem I seem to run into over and over again while working withdata from our projects is invalid UTF-8 sequences that litter ouroutput. I could go on about how doing this is a horrible offenseagainst man, but my main concern is to simply get around these issuesin my own code.Does anyone have a document describing places where we're known toemit malformed unicode?Tonight I encountered it in the file history output for a query.php request.http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/query.php?what=categories|templates|links|pe…You can see it on the site proper at:http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Image:00022279.jpg&action=hi…Simply striping the bad characters on the serialized output frightensme because I worry that eventually I'll strip an adjacent delimiterand make the output unparsable. It would at least be useful to knowall the places I could expect to find junk like this. :)

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----Hash: SHA1Hi,is there any reason why wfSajaxSearch is casesensitive and limited tonamespace 0? I just wondered if I can get this nifty feature to show me thesame results as the normal search without hacking core-code or using runkitfunctions to redefine wfSajaxSearch?Kind regards, Benedikt-----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE-----Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (MingW32)iD8DBQFF4x/NX96C8k2LhU8RAr5KAJsGwVG5sgJ6dQ2kLqtLQglJKFNjnACeJuQMCyFGdjytERT5YEKYbeSdQc0==Olce-----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

MediaWiki 1.9.3 wgLogo renders improperly
by Jeff V. Merkey 03 Mar '07

03 Mar '07
Please check and try to create an account on one of the two sites setup with 1.9.3http://chr.wikigadugi.orghttp://en.wikigadugi.orgEven though $wgLogo is setup correctly, the images fail to render on the default page with no user logged in. When you switch to a loginpanel or some other panel other than main display, the images then show up properly. They disappear completely when either logged outor when sitting on a main page for editing.Jeff
