Named after the Greek goddess of youth and cupbearer to all the gods, daughter of Zeus and Hera {see planets(5731) and(103)}, wife of Hercules. (H 2)
Named by C. F. Gauss (AN 26, 155 (1847)). The
symbol used for Hebe in ancient times was a beaker.
