Named in honor of the laboratory assistant and calculator Katja (Ekaterina) Ios’ko of the discovery observatory. She was the daughter of the Simeis mechanician Iosif Gavrilovich Ios’ko. (N. S. Samojlova-Yakhontova; N. Solovaya; N. S. Chernykh; V. A. Shor)
