Abstract
Intelligent tutoring systems (ITSs) are one application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the classroom. In digital classrooms, these structures can significantly affect students’ learning abilities. Digital applications have been shown to provide students with tailored learning experiences via deep-learning algorithms, but there has yet to be widespread use of ITSs in educational contexts. This chapter gives readers a primer on ITSs, an overview of their many forms, and a glimpse of their current prevalence in the classroom. This chapter will be helpful if teachers and professors consider using artificial intelligence (AI) in the classroom.
