Abstract

Struma ovarii is a rare cause of hyperthyroidism. We report a case of a 52-year-old woman with the typical signs and symptoms of hyperthyroidism, in whom the diagnosis of struma ovarii was missed. We discuss the approaches leading to the correct diagnosis and we review the management of the disease.
