Abstract
Throttling is a crucial feature in solid-state drive (SSD) firmware design. It aims to manage and regulate the drive’s temperature and power consumption to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and data integrity. Excessive heat and power usage can lead to performance degradation and potential hardware damage. The SSD firmware incorporates intelligent throttling mechanisms to mitigate these risks and maintain efficient operation under varying workloads and environmental conditions.
