Abstract
Suppose the edges of a graphG are painted ink colors. We say a subgraphH ofG ismonochromatic if all its edges receive the same color. We say ak-painting ofG isproper with respect toH ifG contains no monochromatic subgraph isomorphic toH in that painting. If no subgraph is specified, “proper” will mean proper with respect to triangles — graphs isomorphic toK3.
