In this article, you learn how to assign a system-assigned or a user-assigned identity to an Event Grid namespace. To learn about managed identities in general, seeWhat are managed identities for Azure resources.

Turnon the switch to enable the identity.
SelectSave on the toolbar to save the setting.

SelectYes on the confirmation message.
Confirm that you see the object ID of the system-assigned managed identity and see a link to assign roles.

First, create a user-assigned identity by following instructions in theManage user-assigned managed identities article.
On theIdentity page, switch to theUser assigned tab in the right pane, and then select+ Add on the toolbar.

In theAdd user managed identity window, follow these steps:
Refresh the list in theUser assigned tab to see the added user-assigned identity.
Select values for subscription, resource group, location as per your preference.
Specify a name for the namespace.
In the security tab, you can enable managed identity:
