CHAPTER 895
An Act to require the posting of certain statement in the public schools of theCommonwealth.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1.§ 1. Posting of certain statement in the public schools.
All school boards in Virginia shall prominently post the statement, "’In God WeTrust,’ the National Motto, enacted by Congress in 1956”, in a conspicuousplace in each of their schools for all students to read.
The Office of the Attorney General shall intervene on behalf of local schoolboards and shall provide legal defense of the provisions of this section.
2. That school boards, at their discretion, may accept contributions in cashor in-kind from any person, as defined in §1-13.19, to defray the costs ofimplementing this provision.
