JASC congratulates Blue Origin on the fifth flight of its re-useableNew Shepardspace vehicle on Wednesday, October 5. The in-flight test of the capsule abort system successfully separated the capsule from the booster. The capsule descended under parachutes to a landing in the west Texas desert. The booster survived the separation and continued on under power to an apogee of 307,458 feet and then returned for a vertical landing at the launch site.

JASC designed and manufactured the Flight Control System Actuators and the engine Thrust Vector Control Actuators used onNew Shepard. Both of these actuators are servo-hydraulic units, with the former used to steer the vehicle and provide aerodynamic stability, and the latter to vector the engine/nozzle for the same purpose.
