hey I tried putting the sprites I made for RPGMaker MV into the engine, but they don't line up properly (image attached). the character is in three rows, but rpgmaker tries to select it in four rows for some reason, so the sprites get cut off
EDIT: ok I've done a bit more tinkering and I figured out that renaming the files is what made them no longer fit for some reason. which is a bit inconvenient. i guess i'll have to do some experimenting to see how if i can rename them in certain ways to avoid this happening? unless you know an easier way to fix this lol
I sent you an email and I left a comment a couple months ago about how I was unable to download the EX Generator despite being supposed to have access to it since I purchased that humble bundle on September 24th last year, and you indicated we would have 1 year to download the EX version. When I clicked the link provided by the humble bundle, it tells me that I don't have access to the page because the page is owned by another account.
I haven't received a response to my email or my comment detailing this, and it's now past September 24th, so it's been officially over a year since I purchased the humble bundle, as such I'm assuming I'm just shit out of luck for getting it.
I'm giving the benefit of the doubt and assuming you haven't been on your account and email and so haven't seen my messages. If you're somehow able to get me access to the EX generator like I was supposed to have, I would be very grateful. Otherwise, I'll look elsewhere for assets. Unfortunately I can't afford to spend $50 on assets, especially on ones I was supposed to have access to for free.
your assets are so cool! :D really excited to try making something with this
one thing--I thought these would be already formatted for rpgmaker since it's tagged with that game. do you know how i can edit them for that engine? (I haven't ever tried before so, I've only ever used assets that are already set up for rpgmaker, so I'm not really sure what to do...)
I wouldn't be able to explain how to arrange it myself since I don't do pixel art and my brain would just waffle a bit at the attempt lol. FlowPoly on youtube has a tutorial for making rpgmaker tilesets in aseprite, so maybe that will help? But I recommend looking at tilesets that are already set up for rpgmaker. They're separated into sections titled A1, A2, B, etc. Clockwork Raven has a great free tileset called Green Forest that is set up for rpgmaker, so you could go study that. or maybe even ask Clockwork Raven for advice?
I would definitely suggest adding a version of your tilesets that's formatted for rpgmaker if you're going to attach the tag for the engine to them, since most people who are buying tilesets for rpgmaker will want them to already be set up for use in the engine.
Good luck!
The 'save sprite' button doesn't seem to work most of the time? I managed to get it to work once, after trying several times, but now it won't work again. The 'save face' button works fine though.
Edit: finally got it to work again, maybe I just need to leave it for a while and then try again for it to work??
Edit 2: the button works fine if I put the character creator in full screen :)
This tool is very cool! I'm gonna have a lot of fun with it
