As someone who's never touched The Lettuce in their entire life, I just felt like a very stoner vibe kind of game would be very appropriate for this jam for some reason. It just makes sense in my head
And as for the platforming...yeah I really fell victim to the classic game dev trap where you're used to your own game and you're like "hm this isn't that bad" but then it turns out that it's actually very hard ...sorry about that
I will admit that there are some small improvements I could've made that you and other people have suggested and some that even I myself have thought about but the bad part of so bad it's good extends to the code itself. The reason why I finished a day early instead of adding other things was because by the end I felt like I was playing late stage jenga and if I were to do one wrong move the tower would collapse so I just left it as it is. Well except for the lack of alternate control schemes, that is on me (I say as if the other stuff wasn't)
Thank you for playing! I guess it is very obvious that yume nikki was the biggest inspiration and I wasn't even trying to hide it lol
And as for some of the imagery and the ending, yeah let's just say that I've also had some darker thoughts in my time (most of the things in the game are based on real dreams I've had, which is why some things are as convoluted as they are)
No way someone's actually played the game. Anyways, the last two (I guess three) items are fairly well hidden, so I understand how one would have trouble finding them. Here's some help to nudge you in the right direction
I hope this was helpful enough without spoiling much
Hey, sorry for not replying sooner, I didn't notice your reply until now. I didn't take a screenshot of it at the time (although I totally should have, sorry!), so I had to edit together roughly what it looked like just to give you an idea, the enemies kept walking straight to the right, not following the path and there were no towers which could damage them, resulting in a soft lock
I couldn't paste my recreation into the comment itself, sohere
is an external link to it. Hope this helps!
