A fun concept, and thought the monster design was really well done. Would have liked to see some more animations from him though. Like a jumping animation or scare animation. But the core of the game was cool and I liked the race against time / puzzle find all the scare spots aspect. And you did a great job on the sound effects. Other people did mention but the jump is a bit floaty.
Oh no didn’t think of CTRL + W closing the browser. Will remember that for future, thanks so much. And also thanks for playing my game and taking the time to review it. I realized too close to the deadline that I created that view cone bug, so I just had the character respawn instead of having the level restart. Would have been too frustrating to play if you had to restart unfairly like that. Sadly I can only play browser games and your game’s art style is giving me very How to train your dragon vibes from what I can see.
Yeah sadly I tried to give each enemy a dynamic view cone size and only realized too late that there is a bug somewhere in the code that resizes it :( But still thanks so much for taking the time to play my game and give feedback. Really wish I could play your game the premise is so unique and reading the comments is giving me full on #fomo. But I can sadly only play browser games :(
You get quite caught up in the hunt, especially when you hear the timer for the round coming to an end and you want to try and nab a few more prey. Really dug the maze vibe, it felt endless almost as if it was generating as I was moving. Wall jumping was also really cool and adding to the hunting feeling.
There is so much polish and attention to the finer details plus the concept is really cool as well. Had me second guessing myself in the best way. The tutorial is also really smart and not going to lie I might be “borrowing” the scoring system for a future jam. You know it’s a great game when you’re sad it’s finished, the extra game mode gave replaying it a bit of extra edge. Great work!!
Thanks for taking the time to play my game, and it did end up getting a bit convoluted sadly. The main idea is that you sniff then chose a target ( clicking the sniff button again increases the range ) and then you can stalk/hunt down the prey and consume it. I created that “thrown out of bounds” bug from pushing in last minute changes before deadline, lesson learnt there. And thanks also for your feedback :)
I like the game, but it does not like me LoL! Such a complete game jam entry really really well done. At first I didn’t see how it related to the theme but then I clicked it. The hunting for the exit is such a cool idea and the hitting the ground and looking for the shockwave changes is an awesome idea.
