got there, in the end! took me three or four tries. so much here that's just specific enough to make the imagination go wild. it was so easy to fall in love with these characters.

A nice study in mood and character, capturing one scene with lovely attention to detail. A moment caught in time. I like the hints at the characters' pasts, like the woman's middle-school emo music phase or the protagonist's former ambitions of becoming an artist. The randomly selected emo band you can talk about is a fun touch. You can only see a bit of who these characters are and what their relationship is like, through the awkward but genuine way they interact with each other, but it's sweet.
