Ha, you're not the first person to make the comparison!
But I would say DoL is a game that is completely about a particular kind of fetish - being a victim. It's also full of some rather strong content, including bestiality and rape, that might not appeal to everyone.
CoT is based on a completely different concept - simply being a college student in a town that's a bit more.. sexually free than most xD The entire point of the game is to explore that situation, to learn and grow, to be who you want to be without restriction of gender or sexuality. It's a more realistic setting, a softer setting, and a much more hopeful and happier setting!
I could see why you could think the two games are "similar", they both are life sims written in Twine! But aside from that.. I'd say there are very vast differences!
We're not competing with DoL, dude XD We have no need to or any want to. We're a completely different vibe over here, and there's room for both games to exist! There's a LOT that CoT will do that DoL won't, and we know there's stuff DoL will have that CoT will never have, too! So choose whatever game you want, it's cool! There's a lot of crossover in the fandoms, and we hope that both games can grow to be better together!
Thanks! Probably not in the way you're thinking... we have some plans to maybe have a meta-style of sorts where NPCs can acknowledge if, for instance, you're dressing in feminine clothing while otherwise presenting as masculine, as well as giving player characters the option to reconsider their gender identity over time. But probably nothing where you're forced into it or berated for your choices, at least not in the near future.
I've found this game ~2 weeks ago andI might be a little bit addicted to it I absolutely love it! I'm going to put together longer comment with feedback, things I like and some minor bugs I've encountered.
But now I just wanted to ask - are watersports scenes already in the game? Or are they still to be added? Because I've spent at least 10 hours grinding all (supposedly) pee related scenes, I've visited every restroom like 50 times and shagged half a town in River Rat and I haven't encountered any watersports event.
It's possible! Threesomes were added in 0.4, and while there's only a few of those scenes around, I'm keeping it in mind to add more as I write new content. Gangbang/orgy stuff is certainly possible, though some of it will need some further extensions to AI. But it'll come, sooner or later.
Fully custom NPCs are not yet possible, but I'll take it as a suggestion.
That's absolutely incorrect. Herms/Futas or "Hermaphrodites" are feminine bodied people who typically have both sets of genetalia. To a much broader extent, it just means any person that has both parts. Futanari is just the Japanese colloquial. This is different from being trans, and if it's being used as an "insult," it's more likely that the offender doesn't at all understand the difference. It's not derogatory, it's simply a descriptor.
It's quite annoying when it's framed like that. Same for "femboy", which are men that simply like to dress or appear as women. Literally just short for "feminine boys." They (commonly in media) aren't actually trying to be women and therefore aren't trans, and yet they are seen as such. People latched onto the word, "claimed it," and then saw it as offensive, which is so egregiously disappointing.
Honestly this digital world just seeks anger, nowadays. Ridiculous.
But they aren't true derogatory terms, I thought I clarified that. Intersex is a spectrum of varying ordinances. It can include hermaphrodites, but it isn't the only part of it. Hermaphroditesspecifically have both functional male and female privates. And I'm not the one offended by reality, I think it's stupid to be insulted by a word that's almost entirely used for fictional purposes nowadays, otherwise to denote special circumstances of a person, which is an extremely rare case in the first place.
Look, I'll even post some facts for you:
Now, after further research. I've also noted evidence that it has been used as a derogatory term:
Hermaphrodite is a derogatory and outdated term for an intersex person, who is someone born with variations in their sex characteristics. The term implies that a person is both fully male and fully female, which is a physiological impossibility. The term is also stigmatizing and misleading, and should be avoided except in a medical context. Some intersex people may reclaim the word, but it does not apply to transgender people unless they are also intersex.
But in this case, it's not referring to intersex people, rather anactual hermaphrodite. It's specifically noting one situation and, especially here in erotica or +18 content, referring only to this phenomenon of gender. I'd actually put it in the same barrel as "gay" or "queer": terms that have been used as insults but also have actual non-insulting references to situations (though that's mostly just an opinion). So perhaps I should readjust my stance a bit: You are partially incorrect. If used correctly, it isn't derogatory.
(And to readjust your argument, for the sake of a future reply, the term (used in a nonfictional setting, (and in some cases including)) wouldn't be only referring to women. So instead, you should say "people" instead of just trans women. And I hope you aren't upset, I really just don't view it as a derogatory term since I've only seen it (at least in media) used in this specific application of gender.)
how are you so butthurt over basic respect. The term that starts with an F refers to women. End of. Touch grass. Also, my brother in christ? It is referring to actual intersex people. That's the POINT. if you refer to POC as racial slurs in a fictional setting and only ever refer yo them as that, congratulations you are racist as shit because it's clear that's what you think of them.
I love the game, thanks a lot for making it!
However, I had an issue when updating from 0.4.12 to 0.4.18 on Android:
The app name changed from "Course of Temptation" to "CoT" (which is less awkward if someone checks your phone so it's a good change). Because of this, I suppose, it didn't replace the old app so both versions were installed. I promptly uninstalled the old version and realized too latethat it wiped all my saves before I transferred them to the new version.
I tried reinstalling the old version and, fortunately, it somehow managed to find some saves that were created within the last 24h. Those were not my most recent saves so I'm confused where they came from, maybe some automatic backup on my phone. Anyway, I'm saved but that was close.
I'm sharing this in case it happens to someone else. Putting a warning somewhere to always backup your saves before updating might be useful too.
I actually ran into this message a few times. I had a few characters running, which previously wasn't an issue. I tried loading up them first, which is when I instantly got the message upon clicking "Load", which may have been on me for not exporting them. But I ran into the exact same "You may continue but some parts may not work properly" in the prologue after I deleted them, closed Itch, and reopened the game. The first instance was during character customization, then during best friend customization. I wouldn't know if the full game is affected, so unfortunately I can't help you there, as I can't really get past the prologue. Hopefully this helps.
Hi, hi! It's me again and I'm not here for an suggestions. More like a problem I kept find myself into.
This is the message I got when I set my body hair to smooth, tried setting it to stubble and yet this message appeared again.
This is all and thanks for reading this message, hoped this can be fixed soon.
(Edit: Ok, following the prologue works fine for me. Seems like quickstart is the one that's having this problem.)
Does anyone else keep crashing? It was completely fine yesterday but now when I play, I only get like 10 minutes to play before it crashes + can't load one of my save files when the other one with a different character is fine? I'm playing in browser on android
Edit: it's just my tablet I guess bc it works just fine for my phone
Passed more than two weeks since the party event, but I never got "Talk about sex" when I visited best friend's room. I play as a male, and she is a female. I didn't drink cum at the party event, failed the skill check, and she saved me (dunno if this info is needed). Btw, I actually got that option once, but it was long before party events.
I saw "open relationships" in the roadmap, but is it gonna be possible to make a harem? Basically, your partners will be exclusive to you while you are not. Please add this if possible.
Virginity of npcs should also be tracked.
While generating the world some types of npcs should be more common than others for realism. For example, there are a lot of female npcs with very short hair, while in real life, longer hair is more common for females. Things like these should be taken into consideration in character generation, imo.
can you add negative options forrape encounters, I think it'll add more realism to the CNC side of it. Like defensive things like fighting or even biting. Rather than just trying to resist then giving up on life as they continue "forcing" you. It won't feel or even seem like force unless you actually retaliate. And behavior popularity rather than just actions, like having a heavily submissive or dominant attitude could make others talk and try taking advantage and- I think I'm going too far on the forceful side of this aren't I? You could also add stuff like accidental porn magazines on the library, or even the ability to stimulate yourself while walking in daylight as an extra exhibitionist perk. Vibrating items while you're sitting in class, or you turn around on your class bully and make them embarrassed while they relieve their stress during a lesson. Maybe videos of your best friend vulnerable and you record them. Many more possibilities!
But these are only suggestions, sorry for the lustful paragraph.
Loving this game lately. Just the idea of it is quite inspiring and passionate. It's the type of game where I'd love to make a possible contribution in some way or another, in order to aid the growth and scale of the game.
I do wish there was either NSFW animations, or images, or something to aid all the possible choices. But I understand this would take a ludicrous amount of time, if not a highly modular system - and a lot of time.
I have noticed when you try to shove past an 'Extortionist-in-a-Box' but don't have the Physical skill to pull it off, there are consequences. Why are there no consequences for them when they clearly haven't got a hope in hell of blocking you?
Unrelated; when you are in a 'just chill' hang-out or date & you pick something to watch that reflects one of your interests but not theirs, is there a way to keep it from being something you choose later on with them?
While punching them could indeed be satisfying, I was actually thinking of something that would hurt even more, their feelings. Something like getting right in their face with a comment like 'Did you actually see this playing out any other way? REALLY?!' Or the ones that go with something sexual if you fail get something like you shoving them up against the wall, getting right in their personal space & whispering in their ear 'Lets be honest with ourselves, it wasn't about the money, WAS IT?' and then just walk off, leaving them with their failure & conflicting emotions...
As to the other, that would be great, but you (the player) has no control over what you (the character) picks in those situations. I mean if we could start choosing, that would be great, but right now my Physical skill 10 Football player is always choosing vids about working out & his 'on the short side' English Major gf really has no interest, so maybe something about 'Nerd Stuff' or Dancing?...
Incidentally, thank you so much for putting the 'throw the match' option in, were you holding onto the making breakfast for the 'Official Relationships' expansion, or is it just more complex coding?
First off, this really comes across as "all women should be scared of men".
Secondly, the first encounter with the Harasser is basically them fucking with you a little and then walking off. You get a lot of opportunities to fight back after that, and your character doesn't start out as Dominant, you have to level that like every other skill xD
Really enjoying this game and the customization is great. The world seeds option are great too. Loving the extra credit options too and the ability to seduce the professors. Plus the streaming options, those are great.
I've got a few questions.
For Quickieburger, is there a max raise you can get? Because I feel like I've been on my current ($11) a lot longer than the previous ones. Or does promotion simply take longer the higher you raise is?
With the art model extra-credit, is the art teacher painting you the end of that route? I've reached that point and just curious if I should start going down the psychology or clinic extra credit or if there's further scenes.
For the arcade games, would there be any chance to throw the game like you can do in the student lounge in future updates?
Quickieburger, you have technically hit your max raise. That said, keep working there & you will eventually meet the labor Organizer who is trying to get better pay for everybody. That will lead to an event chain. Here's a hint regarding the event chain; the Charisma, Physical & Exhibitionism skills will all be useful, so get them up now, rather than later.
The other stuff, I don't know.
How long in-game has it been since the shower scene? One of my old saves went down that route and I remember it being like a week or two in-game before it progressed beyond the shower scene.
I'm assuming the hint is referring to the fact that you have to wait for the NPC to approach you and "order" you to do something embarrassing/exhibitionist. I haven't fully completed it so I have no idea where it "ends" but I've definitely gotten further than the shower scene.
