Just played my first game of this, and man, is it a blast! After being immersed in Warhammer 40K for so long, it's great to have a game that's a little easier to jump into. The worldbuilding, art, and faction depth are all incredible! I would love expansions (or just more content in this world), but what's here is wonderful, elegant, and so much fun. 9/10, this is my new favorite wargame!
holy fuck
I am so in love with this-- holy shit man, for the love of god get some expansions cooking so I can throw more money at this * o*
also yes, like others are saying; enough fluff to run some TTRPG's off it cause this setting is dynamite.
also fuck yea for the playlist to the factions. awesome touch! I havent seen an author do this sinceBleach's old manga back in the day
I'm in a huge argument with a friend. Blood Boil reads "Trigger: Unit is slain. Effect: Unit is not slain but remains at 0 hp and becomes immune to all damage." The victory conditions read "In all situations, you are defeated and lose a battle when your necromancer is slain."
So my homie hits Warcord, she's already used Blood Rage, I burn 4 Soul for Blood Boil. He says that since she was slain, as the trigger, the game ends instantly. I argue that the nature of the power implies she's not slain and she'd get another turn.
What's the official ruling?
I was immensely excited for this game following a video I found on Youtube, but I'm admittedly feeling a little confused and let down. It's important to know that I did pay for this and I don't feel cheated or anything, I paid for what I got and what is here is REALLY good and interesting.
I feel like I'm really missing a lot of guts and filler. This book teases a really vibrant, unique setting but there is so little world building or fleshing out. So much of the art is limited to either GIGANTIC gorgeous scenes or tiiiny little character portraits, but very little middle-ground with larger single-character artwork to give some life to the inhabitants of the city or the units you'll be playing as/with. I feel like if this book was expanded and every unit was given a distinct page or at least much more dedicated space for their own art, stats and flavor text to flesh them out you'd be striking gold here. But that's also asking the writer and artist to make a whole other product and I don't want to sound ungrateful for what work did already gone into this.
I suppose what I'm really dealing with here is wanting a full TTRPG Book and only getting a sliver of a game and its setting with a smaller combat-focused game book. I don't regret my purchase or anything of the sort, I'm just desperately hoping this setting and book can be expanded to a much larger project.
Is there some reason you deliberately keep misrepresenting what I said? My "issue" if we even want to call it that, is I bought the game after finding a video talking about it, and I would love to see a more fleshed out TTRPG book/game for this setting. I like the material so much, even if initially I thought I was getting something bigger than what was actually purchased, that I would pay for a larger game in an expanded form.
What is the issue here? The material is good enough that I want more and would pay for more.
