Nice entry for your first one, really liked the music and the pulling up the character list and the communication with the villages was a nice touch.

The controls seemed a little awkward, maybe too fast for the character and no acceleration?

There were some minor graphics problems: top of the screen did not have a background and the water expanded on the right but not the left. But again good submission for your first one, looking forward to your next one.
