Oh sorry just I play so many that had it where they set up where you don't even move and I saw the commadn for it just the way it was set up my brain thought it was one of those you didn't move. Sorry. Now that I try it I can definetly see how much fun it was. I really enjoy the upgrades you got and how bigger ships came in. Really fun game you have here.
Again sorry for that. Just been trying out many games and my mind is like that lol.
The controls and shooting felt great. The weapon switch is a bit inconvenient. Love the visuals and audio. The game made me felt really desperate in the last wave since there are so many enemies coming in at once.
Overall, great game.
I managed to pass it on the second try, pleasant sounds and controls!
Fun game! I like how easy it was to jump right in and start playing. The movement and shooting both felt really good and it was always clear and easy to read even with all the enemies and projectiles. The upgrade system was really a really cool way to incentivize replayability. I managed to win my first try but it was a close call.
Nice juice game, I like the grow color effects in the game well done on that one, and the controls are well responsive good job D. Would you mind trying out my game and rating it according :).
There's a weird balance thing where the hardiest part of the game is the beginning of each wave, versus it being the end of each wave. I beat the game in one try by focusing on fire rate and projectile count.
Wow! Awesome job! A very good rogue-like. It was very fun to play and I like the look of it.
I have some minor criticism/advice, especially against how well done the game is. You mentioned you were focusing on game feel / juice, so the following is my very amateur advice on that.
Super enjoyed the game. Keep it up.
Wow the controls were really smooth and responsive! Great stuff!
Very fun game to play! quite addictive as well! Beside the fact that it doesn't have any connection to the theme of the jam, this is a well done game. The MDA of this game comes well together, and offers a fun, highly dynamic holistic experience.
Suggestions: If you're going to limit the action into a small arena, make sure that the player has the space to move around freely, as reducing the parameters so much would become unfair.
This game was really cool. I always love upgrades in games. I almost didn't make it to the end but I got it first try :)
One of the most fun game i have played during this jam, i loved it i played it already multiple times it is really damn fun!
Interesting, and I think if you change the way i use different types of bullets or just let it random change.Because the key is close to the move key:D
Really fun it reminded me of nova drift. I regret not choosing more health lol. Really good submission!
This is a really good basis for a geometry wars style roguelike. Really like it overall especially the fleshed out upgrade system. Here are a few points where I see room to improve:
- Pressing numbers is a bit cumbersome with WASD. Maybe use the scroll wheel?
- enemy healthbar too small. Maybe use the body as a health indicator?
- Please add more satisfying projectile impact effect both visually and sound wise.
- Would have liked it to start off with mono colored waves to teach the concept. First enemies should die faster (one hit?)
- I would have liked the player and enemies being a bit smaller so that there's more room to navigate
I'm super glad you like it!
Thank you for the feedback and those great ideas!
1- You are right, it is cumbersome :/, I will think about adding scroll wheel input for changing colors
2- That is really interesting! Maybe change the color value a bit when losing health :D
3- I tried, for the SFX, there were way too many sounds on the final stages with so many enemies, so many projectiles that the sound just breaks, I tried a lot of different configurations and approaches for the sounds, but it just kept breaking. For the VFX, there are actually particles when enemies dies in thedownloadable version, WebGL couldn't keep up with the VFX, so I had to remove them for the final browser build.
4- That is a really cool idea, yes!
5- And that is also another really cool idea!
Thank you for all your feedback! Really appreciate it!
I really enjoyed the game. My only complaint would be that I found it almost impossible to not get hit at the start of a level, maybe there is a trick I didn't figure out but with the enemies coming from every direction there was no where to go.
The upgrades were a great touch and give it some replayability and I really liked the look of the game. The music and sounds fit really well with the game.
Great job!
The game is incredibly fun! I love the roguelike elements. The glow effects are quite a neat touch as well!
