Very cute! The graphic and sounds were super pleasing and very satisfying. I really like the card packs, looks good and gives a nice tactile element to the game.
The only feedback I have is not being able to remove tiles made it feel like I kept building myself into a corner. Also the camera not being pan-able made me feel a little claustrophobic once the screen filled up and I had to scroll out, but then it was hard to place accurately.
Other than that, amazing game! Very fun and chill! If you revisit this in the future, I would really enjoy playing it in a more finished state :)
Stupidly fun game. Great for passing time. Easy to pick up and learn. Only thing I kept wishing for was an easy way to tell what "empty" space I was going to be putting my card/item on to. I would sometimes have it position on a space next to it instead. a visual indication would be a great QoL help.
Beautiful presentation, sweet ambience, and such as relaxing interpretation of the game. I did find it a bit slow and I kept reading to see if there was a way for me to speed up the gaining of money like in a clicker game but boy did I miss those instructions so I just sat and waited for the time to pass. If this is the whole point, okay, but for a jam it seems like an obstacle to see all you put together since I'm starting at nothing for quite a long time just to be able to place a single object. My recommendation is that for the jam version, you allow us to speed up this process since most of us only have 5mins on average per game as we try to play as many games as possible.
Having said all of that, again beautiful presentation, super polished, and a calming experience. Well done!
I can certainly see why this is such a popular game for this Jam! The level of polish is really high for a game jam game. The "pack" system is a really cool idea and I could see it being grown in to a much deeper gameplay element with more time, but with all that you've accomplished I think you should be very proud - nice job!
Really well done, great job for a Jam. The polish is top notch with the card effects.
Very enjoyable and relaxing. It was a very wise choice to go without any little people in the game, as I feel it'd ruin the ambience - but I do love the idea of being able to see and hear signs of them dotted over the place, like with the tree cutting sound and that of the motorbike, etc. Maybe in a future version add a little chimney to some of the houses so you can give them animated smoke plumes, like someone's in the house?
The only REAL issue I have with this game, however, is that the prices of the "packs" you can buy eventually raises to be so high it's borderline ridiculous... I understand why you've added it though, to encourage the player to use all the packs available to to promote the less rapid, more laid back approach to enjoying the game. Personally, in a next version if it were me, I'd implement something like a rainstorm that comes every now and again which lowers the cost of the packs by a third or something.
Aside from that gripe, this game (or more like a relaxing executive toy? There's no real win state) is a lot of fun, the sound design is very peaceful and it's just so charming. I think I'm gonna go play it some more!
Thanks a lot for the feedback! I think the prizes curves definitely need some adjusting, but also something that might have influenced your experience is that idle games are mostly meant to be played a lot, which is why I plan on adding saving and loading in a later update, so you can come back to it. That event for lowering the prices definitely sounds like a cool idea, though!
What a lovely, chilled, tactical game! Really enjoyed playing it! It would be nice if you could see how much a tile was producing once it had been placed, or even how much it would produce as you hover over the slots... Also, more tiles to place would be nice. For a 48 hour jam though, this is close to perfect!
