dang i didn't know the game just times you out after a while. well either way here's a pretty solid score, i totally could've kept going though without the timer constraint. i'm loving this mode tho it is so much fun

protip : if you click “classic” on the top left hand side, you can switch between different timer modes, including “endless” with no timer, and “zero grav”, with no gravity. i only take high scores in classic mode tho!

This one's super fun! Here's my highest score so far :D Idk if you're planning on doing any re-runs of old versions, but if you are I've been missing pinball tetrible. That one was a blast!

holy cow i've only known about tetrible for a few weeks and i can't believe i missed out on pinball tetrible. i can't even imagine what it would be like but it sounds like it would be a blast

Very, very annoying bug: pressing soft drop also triggers hold.

not for me, check your keybinds.

did the issue persist after double-checking your keybinds?


this game is getting more and more like puyo puyo every day... starting it off with 44 lines

almost completely forgot to check in this week, and this sure was a tough one to play, rotations get really fast once you go past 100 lines

still managed to squeeze out a score of 138 tho

uploaded another version of life tetrible, fixing the ghost pieces above the board

terrible idea: "auto rotate tetrible"

self explanatory. rules:

1. you can't rotate

2. the game rotates for you every so often

from a coding pov, this idea should be fairly easy to implement. if you want, rotating could become more frequent as the gravity increases.

just uploaded another version of life tetrible, without the dev console and i also fixed the glitch that caused the pieces to have weird colors

i’ve uploaded a new version of life tetrible. i couldn’t find all of the bugs so i ended up rewriting a bit of the codebase from scratch. it seems less buggy to me, what do you think?

I like it. I got 107 too. Is there somewhere to play the previous week's versions?

hi, there’s only one version available at a time. but i change it every tuesday, and sometimes rerun the old ones!

I got 112 at this last night! Does that put me in first position? Quick update it before someone beats me! Oh btw, I was thinking if you added the name of the particular variant somewhere on screen, it would be good for keeping track of which version screenshots were taken during. Also I'm not sure what that red error message is about, but may be of interest to you.

it certainly works a lot better now, the only thing that bugs out a little now is pieces sticking out of the top when a line gets cleared

i’m not sure what you mean by this, do you have a screenshot?

as you can see the bit of the T piece that was sticking out the top of the field remains there, not solid

Very fun, too bad there's a bunch of annoying bugs.
I encountered a bunch of ghost tiles/dead pixels that actually didn't have any collision. And I also had some lines that didn't clear (I assume it was caused by a ghost tile being present in the line). Would love to see a fixed version

I second this, the idea is great and I enjoyed it but the consistent ghost tiles and missed lines are a bit annoying

107 on life tetrible

41 lines on Life Tetrible! This is a pretty funny one, attempting to slip pieces down towards the bottom once the top was all jumbled and whatnot. ;u;

I admit that this feels a bit scuffed since there were moments where some tiles were visible, but the pieces could pass through them and said tiles were part of lines, causing them to not clear, but yeahhhh.

i wonder if there is a setup that lets you infinitely score lines...

phase-thru blocks, lines not clearing (even when all blocks have collision)

hi everyone! you might notice that “game of life” tetrible is a bit buggy. i’m going to sleep for now, and i’ll see what i can do tomorrow. good night and enjoy!

just tried this version and definitely noticed that, there seem to be quite a few cases where cells don't get cleared out properly, making it quite difficult to see what's solid and what isn't
certainly do like the idea of this though, so would be nice if that problem got fixed c:

i was gonna get 145 lines, but i accidentally went over by one so i decided to just keep playing

last minute competition, exciting!

I made it up to 134 which is still a personal victory but couldn't crack these last two scores! Well played :D

The hold key ending the game is killing me (I'm sorry I know a lot of people gripe about it) but this is as far as I've been able to get so far!

no but you’re right, i should figure out a way to fix this bug!! good job on the high score btw :)

i’m still having trouble catching this bug, so if you ever find a way to repro it consistently let me know, that would help huuugely.

right now for every fix i try i need to play the game for 5-10 minutes and hope the bug happens… not very convenient haha

i think they're talking about when you take a L/I/J piece to max height, hold it, then take it out of hold. pretty sure it doesn't have to do with the previous reason

i pressed the hold key and then i lost?

maybe that was just an issue with pressing hold and hard drop at the same time and it made the game think the placed piece was above the board? idk i can't remember if i pressed hold but i pressed right arrow key iirc 

also i don't remember pressing hard drop

i just think this is a very rare occurrence

yeah, i’m aware there is a bug that makes you lose when you hold but i haven’t been able to repro it… i’m doing my best to find it haha

i know you guys are crazy good and this score probably won't hold, but it's a personal best for me by far!

i love how you imply this is just a starting point. well done!

a few bugs i want to point out:

1. there is no hold slot

- if you hold, you can't see anything in the hold slot

2. texture glitch

 - if you try to rotate but can't due to srs, the textures will get mixed up for the piece

ok anyways, good job on this one! my high score is 27 lines.

Too bad I can't turn off the fog. Fog of war as a separate mode was a good idea, but what's the point of these cool figures if I can't see them most of the time

i got an idea for you, and while it's not exactly new, it could be fun to see how you handle it.
basically tetris on a hexagonal board instead of a square one

here's an example of how such a board could work:
