Hello Wolod! I got around to playing Knightin'+ (this was months ago), but a couple more speedrunners caught eye of Knightin' and played that, so I came back to reclaim my record and here is a little video just showing off the time of 3:26.667 Any% NMG World Record, and to tell you i'm still around. Here is the video (the splits for the timer are messed up, I had to retime the run for a accurate starting and ending frame).
I also did some speedruns of Knightin'+ and ended with a time of 35:08 (after some time of practicing and bringing my personal best time down by minutes), I think it can be under 34 minutes, but with the best rng, movement, and optimal boss fights you may be barely able to get under 33 minutes, I plan to return to the game to get under that 34 minute mark, but I may also push for under 33 minute mark as well. Anyways here is the video for the 35:08 Any% NMG World Record.
Oh! Might I add that when you updated Knightin' to 1.3 (before releasing Knightin'+) it make 100% NMG way faster, it used to be 12:30 just about, but now it is 7:22.333! Due to the amulet price being dropped from 150 -> 100 and the slightly higher coin drop rate, it made the game 5 minutes faster for 100%! Anyways heres the video for the 7:22.333 100% NMG World Record (plan to improve this too as this was months ago right when I found out about the update).

I am having issues with Knightin' on Linux. I have a ton of custom fonts installed for development purposes (Ruby and Golang dev) and the game craps the bed on launch due to Fontconfig errors, but if I move or delete the system fonts directory, it works just fine. Is there anyway to get the game to look at my user fonts directory instead or disable the check entirely?
Hello, another Linux user had found a workaround. Here is the link to the forum thread. Hope that it will work for you.
I'm playing Knightin'+ and I think I'm stuck. I'm on the 4th dungeon. I have found two keys, but I have already used both of them. There is a third door which requires a key (in room 4-2 on level 4-2, accessed via the teleporter at room 1-1), but I cannot seem to find the third key (I think I've double-checked every room on every floor accessible to me, and the only unopened chests are currently blocked and I don't think there are any unsolved sokoban puzzles.
So you've chosen the Crimson Armor route. The first key that you can obtain is on the floor 4-3 in the room 4-1. The second one is on the floor 4-2 like you mentioned. If you collected both of them you'll have to buy the key in the shop. The boss route is pretty straightforward. You'll be able to find one key on the each floor starting from the floor 4-4 except of floors 4-6 and 4-7 (there are no keys on these two).
Thanks for the quick reply! Your response encouraged me to persevere and I have managed to make some additional progress now. (Specifically, I previously somehow missed the instructions on level 4-5 about how to activate the lanterns, now that I've figured that out more rooms are opening up). Anyway, thanks for making this game, it is really fun!
So, I'm stuck. Floor 4-3 Dark Temple. I had 2 keys, I'm guessing I was supposed to use both keys on 4-3, but used one of them on 4-4. I need the key for the bottom left room on 4-3 in order to progress any further on 4-4. I've went through every room several times backtracking but to no avail. Have I missed something or will I have to completely restart the game?
Edit: This is for the Knightin+ version on Xbox1.
Thank you! There is an extended version actually. It has a free demo here:https://wolod.itch.io/knightin-plus-demo
Thanks for playing and for the video! You might be interested in the advanced and extended version of this game calledKnightin'+. There is afree demo of it here too.
Congrats! That's great news!
Sorry for not responding in a while. I had personal issues this month and hadn't time to work on Knightin'+ during the last 3 weeks :(
But I have good news too. I'm going to make a closed beta test and you're invited! If everything will be fine I'll be able to start it next week. I haven't found any means to send private messages on itch. Therefore send me your contacts (e.g. email) please so I'll be able to send you a beta key when it's out. Below is the list of my contacts. Choose the most convenient option for you.
Hey DarkCreeperLord! Thanks for not forgetting about me :)
I decided to take a tiny break before Knightin'+ release and participate in Pixel Day on Newgrounds. It's the same annual contest in which I participated with original Knightin' last year. This time my entry is a little puzzle platformer called Nymphiad. I'm going to release it tomorrow by the way.
Knightin'+ is on the final polishing stage. I'm going to make a trailer and add all the final touches right after the contest. I'll try my best to release it in the first half of February.
Thank you for all the suggestions. Game is 99% finished and I won't have enough time to add new playable characters. Release has been delayed few times already. But I like this idea very much. Perhaps I'll make an addon or dlc (or how are these things are called nowadays :D ) with this feature after the release.
This is just a small game made for a contest. I didn't plan to expand it at first. But lots of people all over the internet convinced me to change my mind. Knightin'+ is a sequel that will have a separate demo version. Why don't I want to use this game as a demo? I liked my idea with QR codes containing solutions. But unfortunately most of the gamers disliked it very much. So I removed them in sequel and redesigned the first dungeon. I want this particular game to remain in its original form as a contest entry with QR codes :)
Hi there, thank you for posting up a fun game to play. No story = no fancy ending ;)
Anyhow, there was quite a bit of backtracking involved, but it was never boring because each floor had a few items to pick up, and thankfully the shopkeeper sells the same things on each floor.
The fact that there are infinite lives for the player made this game more relaxed towards mistakes, which helped as I kept dying to the bullet-shooting monsters :p
Thank you for making this game, and I look forward to what you'll release in the future :)
again! this time 100% how!

Glad that you enjoyed my game, I enjoyed your video too. Don't be very harsh on Jeff, he seems to be a nice guy :)
I want to clarify some points.
Both of us (me and McMillen the developer of Binding of Isaac) used old Legend of Zelda games as inspiration for our creations. In fact Knightin' is more similar to Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past than Binding of Isaac. It was an amazing game by the way. A real masterpiece. You should really check it out. I bet that you'll really enjoy it. Just use any free emulator if you don't have any old Nintendo console.
Also I made this game all by myself. But it took me 16 days actually. Pixel Day didn't have very strict deadline ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
OMG dude your back ive been waiting for your return if you have a youtube tell me. But if your using OBS is it recording right?
if not use OBS or if its not working tell me. Now do you use LiveSplit I mean you say you use it so ill go with yes. But idk because for me i click the livesplit then open up the window that i need it to be shown on. so maybe minimize whatever browser you are using click on your timer and then click the browser again but pull it back up at the bottom of page?
