Is there some technique to collecting the rocks? It takes about 15 seconds to move to the location and knock it off with the hammer and they add about 15 seconds of life so apart from the first one I never get enough time to put any on the cannon.
The best technique is to build up the life over time until you have enough to put it on the cannon.
