I'm at around episode 6, and I believe I've encountered a bug? My character turns on the TV to see the news and then after I click any reaction option to it, it just comments on the reaction I chose then says "You run back to the telephone" or something like that then it's blank. There's no way to progress. Did I miss something?
Enjoy this a lot. It's not often that I'm kind of at a loss about the PC of a game, really. I really have no idea what to make of them or anything so far, which is funny considering I'm controlling them and doing my damnedest to self insert as I always do (not that I'm unable, just again I'm really at a loss). But yeah, loving it so far (typing this at the interrogation) and really curious about everything since so far I have extremely little to run on.
Edit, funny that despite this, not being able to figure them out, I do increasingly relate to them, like,a lot. Not saying that's a good thing but we're both not mentally well, just in somewhat different ways. Absolutely part of my liking of this.
Perhaps this is a dumb question and maybe it'll come up later (in Episode 5 at the moment of writing), but for trans characters is there a way to be able to switch names? It seems that isn't accounted for, but again maybe it'll happen in a later part
Final bit of my unending message because I've stayed up till 8:40 in the morning reading this, this is extremely good and enjoyable and I'm mildly surprised by how incredibly ride or die the crew is based on the last episode :)

hiii i Might just be a dum dum but im trying to make a trans mc and the conversation with the psychologist is kind of tripping me up, when making the choice as to whether my mc is female or male, what am i setting up?
at least to me it feels sort of opaque considering that in the very next passage you can choose your gender in a way that reads as also considering sex "you are a woman/man and you were born as that"(<-the born this way might find an issue with that phrasing but thats not my position so idk lol) and "they tell you you're a man/woman but it doesnt feel right" (<-does this mean my mc starts out as pre transition or can i just choose "they tell you you're a woman" with he/him pronouns to play a trans male mc?), it makes the previous choice feel either redundant or confusing but i havent seen anyone else ask so it might just be an skill issue on my part lol
You start of pretransition, there is a section explaining that choice before the prologue, it’s on the same page where it’s explained the what each emoji means in terms of romance or friendship. So far no person who has played as trans has issue with the “born” phrasing. The reason pronouns and gender are separate is because I worry that twine might bug out if I put too much code in one passage as it is prone to do. Please read the section explaining that to understand better
You *KNOW* it's gonna be a DOOZY when there's no MC side quest/we jump right in... 🤣
Can I write how much I love your parallels of MC past to what's happening in (present time) episode? You have the shared symbols/themes, of course: the knife; being at an event you're not welcome in; and even the people, as it seems some of those fawning kids are now the (horny)teens at Halloween party.... But there's also differences: MC being ignored in the past and now made painfully visible. 3 people there on MC's side -- even if they don't always know how to show it. And this time - despite having every right: MC not losing control. Especially impressive after James' speech; I was shaking with anger and wanted to strangle bromyself.
Still: Nia (Obsessed) and how the routes differ (romance to rivalmance). I have to give you your flowers because you could have just changed a few words during pool scene, made one 'soft', the other 'angry' -- but each had such utterly different vibes - neither less than the other; physicality vs. emotional. (I certainly wasn't expecting one having them go into the pool and the other not! And the worm for the Birdie - STHAAAP 😍) Same for what Nia says after working on party music--the implication of sex; the implication of love. BOTH had me 🤯🤯 Biggest shock, though, was Nia -- cold, emotionless, 'lie in wait' Nia -- handling an entire James upon seeing his actions to MC. Didn't even hesitate. Hits harder with the 'Do No Harm' aspect; if *that's* not Love.....
Amazing job; excited romances are locked in, as well. 1 of my fav episodes for how much was said without being said. (P.S. Laugh option after James scuffle was the most amazing thing EVER)
absolute Incredible game, I especially love the beginning where the MC is talked about as if it was a creature or something else not human. I love the complex relationship the MC has with (in my case) Nia and how incredibly sad everything is, im also in love with all the frequent Flashbacks to the MCs Past.

I'm sorry, I do love this IF so don't take this too negatively but that whole party did made me lose a-lot of love I had for the characters, especially for Imre's route.
After everything the MC has gone through, the voice in their head, the "asylum", theirfamily, the bullying anddisdain from a whole town? just for all three of them to watch us go through something as horrific as that? None of them came to check on you afterwards, all of them going off to enjoy themselves knowing what just happened, *And then* each one of them berates and treats you like shit afterwards?? When one of them suggested just splitting up and going our separate ways I almost wish it was an option because I really just wanted to crash out on all of them.
The writing is absolutely beautiful though! This isn't a knock against the story at-all, it's phenomenal and the fact the character's can make someone this engaged is amazing!, this is more of a 'Let me pull a Carrie on them all' kinda thing <3
For some reason I’m actually getting itchio notifications now wow! So to clarify a bit, they didn’t actually go enjoy themselves. They went to kick James out, he mentions it.

I don’t think that just because Crowny went through something bad means that it magically fixes the characters relationships with them. Whatever happened with James isn’t a bandaid. It would be one thing for them to say Crowny got what they deserved. It is another to then have all of them act completely differently to them then they have when there are more deeper things going on. Also an important note is that they start all berating each other, no one dogpiled on Crowny.
I’m sorry I just didn’t know what you expected from these three 😭 its been shown that a) they have their own issues b) not a healthy way to show it thats way they next scene with James is the way they show crowny they care because they’re willing to go to prison as accomplices for them. I feel like that’s a good big step to fix their own relationships, all 4

Noo!! It's OK, I totally wouldn't take it that way, I felt the same when I was writing my own post since it's hard to convey meaning over text so I struggled to word it properly it's all good!
I get what you're saying, especially the bit at the end where they come together to protect Crowny (That really clicked for me when I did Lorcan's route and he clarified it as 'our' mess <3) I was more so referring to the bit between what happens with James and the meet up with the whole gang, for instance I did Imre's route and after he pulled his little twist I could imagine how much worse the MC felt, so I tried to speak to the other two with their friendship dialogue's but *both* ended in arguments. At that point I just felt like Crowny was/would feel very isolated and their emotions would be a-lot more all over the place/volatile .
However your reply did clear some of that up and help me understand it better! Especially with how everyone wanted to get there own stuff off of their chest, and of-course with everything else that happened that just wasn't going to be possible, this is just very much me going through all of that arguing/emotional turmoil right before the cliff-hanger!
I've played this game over and over again, and I've never seen this come up even once, is there something wrong with my game version or my laptop? I've updated to the newest version

Well now we know why Lorcan is so hard on MC. Btw his normal romance is wonderful thing. Feels very organic to me.
I wonder what's Imre's angle on rival romance. Which I love far more than normal one. He is still most deranged of the three, I'm truly fascinated.
But Nia is still the best, as dearest and nearest.
Sally's attempts to make MC find new friends made me feel so fecken bad for them both. Also he is not so patient with MC anymore, I'm awaiting huuuuge scandals.
As for mother dearest... I was delighted to see depressing options, this IF really hits me with something. But moreover I was glad that MC could feel bad for her.
I'm kinda trying to think of the ways to not despise MC family, Orla and parents particularly. But it's hard not to. Then again there are so many really fecked up things about MC that. Well. Escalated this family's unhappiness and cruelty. I wonder how much of this on voice in MC'S head. I wonder if MC is some kind of vessel. I wonder what Nia and Sally see in them.

im OBSESSED with this game, i love how the MC is shown and I adore all the characters :3 (Except Stephanie's boyfriend, hes a weirdo)
I also love the little details, how the other people respond to the MC depending on gender, temperament, and such!!! it makes me really happy to see all those little details put into an already amazing game.
I keep checking it everyday in hopes an update comes cause im impatient, but I really do love this IF and will be drawing my MC as soon as possible

I started to read but my heart wasn't in it, I didn't want to play as a high-schooler. Man was I wrong.
MC is... thanks god and sorry, but I am glad mc is not relatable to me. Still that doesn't mean I wasn't enjoying every crumbs of their past, feeling and reactions. Also the wit. Overall, I want to say that I stayed for this broken child. I came to read about mysterious things but stayed for mc.
Nia is the most sane person here, and I love her. Fall out childhood friends are the best pain, and you delivered. I wonder how did they become friends, I'm worried about her father and his presence in her life. I wonder about the fact that she cares still.
I kept Imre close, and oh my that boy is no less insane than mc. Is that allowed to say? Golden boy, pillar of community and absolutely manipulative egotistical lad.
Lorcan scared the hell out of me in the very beginning, but not now. I will try his route next.
Sally is the most heavy topic for me. And this fact, well, it makes me think about my family situation. I'm thankful for that too.
Joke on me, I'm so emotionally invested into this story. All thanks to your skills as a writer. It's haunted, it's morbid, it's fun. It's insightful in a way that I did not expect. So. Good luck to you! Hope to read more.
