Stuff you did not do in February
Started about a week late, used several pieces of music, the tileset and some sprites from previous projects.
worked with 3 others: two on music and an artist for the talksprites

Really loved the atmosphere of this game!
This was my first time playing aRubber Wizard game—I definitely need to check out the other entries in the series once the jam is over.
I agree with most of the critiques I've read so far—binding interactions to a single button, adding a cast gallery, zooming in the game. I hope to see these improvements next year!
Also, I'm now a member of the Dustin fan club 🫡

I love that we get to check in with these dorks every year, and it's been really cool to see you build on the setting and the characters. We got a real jump in quality this year, too! Good variety of dorks and kinks, engaging gameplay, quite a bit of visual variety. Multiple acts of rubber wizardry. Yes, excellent, continue
This game was so delightful!!! I loved playing and learning about all of these characters and their fantastic designs, the playful worldbuilding, and the intentional creative thought committed to a kinky world with adorable dynamics and awesome cross-pollination of kink worlds
Very cute, but I has a hard time figuring out what to do and where to go
Loved playing this game!! The setting and casual varying kinks between all the characters was extremely charming. Loved seeing so many different kinks represented in casual yet meaningful ways. Each character's personality and designs were unique from one another in a way that was fun reading how they bounced off of each other. The water sliding puzzle was also a nice bonus. Did get a bit lost during the investigation and had to go through the walkthrough, especially as someone unfamiliar with these characters and their names beforehand, but it was totally worth it to see the rest of the game. Exploring how everything went down after the investigation was certainly a delightful cherry on top hehe.
It's really cool to come across a game that just immediately hits you with personality from the moment you open the page. From the goofy lil' rotating 3D background, to the distinctive style of the setting and characters, to the way the characters themselves speak and act. It was what kept me sticking with the game, even though I bounced hard off the controls - the dual button needed to interact was something I kept forgetting. Also agree with other comments that it would be great to be able to zoom in and see the pixel art better!
Also: I love meeting Dustin. Easily the best part. :D
Rubber Wizard Is Cute As Ever. I've really come to love seeing these every year, i was actually looking forward in advance this time lol. We love a good it/its rep, its dialogue portrait is very cute, and i think the narrative was a great way to incorporate the suggested theme into this relaxed workplace type of vibe you've established. Definitely a lighter puzzle than last year's but i did happen to be an idiot and go "i guess this isn't supposed to be solved until i go do something else" before coming back and seeing the solution right under my nose.
I'm an options menu andy so i hit the always run toggle before i ever put on my latex and wizard latex but i think maybe it makes sense for it to be default if possible. Which might be easier next time considering i see you saying you might be ditching RPG maker next time. However i did take a minute or two to remember this is an RPGMaker joint and that that necessitates looking up or down to interact with certain things even in the sidescrolling sections. That led me to thinking initially that Spacebar doesn't do interact.
Just so i don't end on a negative and leave the wrong impression of how much i enjoyed this, i really did and i love Rubber Wizard. Glad i happened to also look at the game page just now and see it rotating. Incredible.
It's a pleasure to see the world continue to grow with each new chapter! It's very cool to see big dialogue illustrations for all of the characters. I also really like the addition of lewd scenes! The option to skip them for those who enjoy playing the series without overtly sexual encounters is a nice touch.
I like the idea of the investigation puzzle, but I feel like there should be multiple routes to identify what happened. An alternative solution would help those who get stuck by not examining something or talking to someone at the right time. The sliding puzzle was neat!
I feel that RPG Maker is somewhat limiting your potential, though you may be able to go around the issues with addons depending on which edition you are using. The first is the need to look up to interact with objects, I think that in the previous game the wizard had an upwards facing sprite to clarify this, but it's a bit ambiguous here and could be a problem for those unfamiliar with RPG Maker mechanics. If possible, it would be ideal to prevent this behavior altogether. The other is the size of the sprites. This series always featured some lovely pixel art, but it can be hard to see, I would love it if there was an option to play the game in 2x resolution.
Great work, I'm very glad that Rubber Wizard has become a common character in these jams!
Oh I do enjoy running around to solve a little mystery. Keeping track of so many new names is tough though, maybe because I haven't played the previous ones. Loved seeing the chaos ensue!
I'm in agreement with Kerfuzzle's points on the controls. I actually think going point and click would be pretty smooth, but that's if your engine supports it.
I always liked the other Rubber Wizard games when I played them after previous Strawberries had ended! The wizard themself has such an oddly cute design.
The puzzle elements felt both more in-depth and a little more obtuse than before, making for an experience that became a little tedious at times but still compelled me to try and finish it as best I could.
Overall, it was enjoyable and I could definitely feel the ways in which it refined a little from the past entries while keeping the same casual, kinky vibe of the cast & location :)
Love the game, but I've been stuck for half an hour trying to find a way to open the locker or that room on the third floor lol
Fantastic game. Love the world love the characters. Just wish it was more zoomed in would love to get a better look of everything ;)
Another cute and silly time in the rubber wizard hq, love the visual improvements (dustin's dialogue font caught me off guard, amazing fit for whatever it is)
Perfect sequel to last year's submission
i had fun playing through this! love the art, it's cute, the character designs are fun and distinct.
took me about an hour and a half in total, i was quite stuck on finding the folks in the custodial cabinet for a while (i was sure they were in there but wasn't sure how to make progress in that direction). love the ending of the game too, quite fun!
i think a feature to consider would be a menu/view of which characters had which names. i eventually started to learn their names but sometimes when characters were telling me the gossip i had literally no idea who they were talking about.
i do think the controls could stand to be simplified slightly:
- pushing space and up seemed unnecessary to me, just one button seems sufficient. although, maybe there are times when there are multiple intractable objects so the distinction is necessary? maybe in that case just "up" by itself could be used to enter doors, etc? i remember there were a few times where it took me several tries to enter a door because i hit the keys in the wrong order.
- i kind of forgot that left shift existed for most of the game and sorta wanted to go faster. imo making players hold a button to go faster is annoying & bad for accessibility--i think you could consider simply increasing the base speed to the running speed and not having a button. or, if you like having the distinction, having it be a toggle (shift toggles from walking to running) or at least an option for a toggle would be nice. annnnd now as i go to check i realize there was a setting to always be running. that actually solves this problem lol. maybe just add a note about that in the description. (speaking of the options, i have no idea what "command remember" does...)
anyway these are just nitpicks, they didn't really impact my enjoyment of the game. good job!
Oke, this is a gigantic improvement compared to the Rubber Wizard game of last year, I absolutely love the cast, especially... ahem.... Dustin my beloved.
Amazing game (But please zoom in ), enjoyed it!
I had a lot of fun with these goobers. The gameplay itself was very sort of point and click without the point and click, and it did get a tiny bit tedious checking every room for things that were different, but I don't think the game overstayed its welcome and I did enjoy the characters and their interactions. Good stuff!
Woah! This game is a lot for a Jam entry! I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it, although I did get stuck for a while. I usually struggle to remember characters names. I did figure out what to do eventually though~
Absolutely inspires me to make something similar one day~
