How does the game fit the theme?
"Nothing" in this context refers to the expression that everything is fine. This is reflected by the term "It's Nothing" which is usually used as a reply to express that there are no issues even though that may not be the case.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All the code and assets were made by me
The dialogue system was made by following a tutorial by YouTuber Peyton Burnham (<a rel='nofollow noopener' referrerpolicy='origin' href='https://www.youtube.com/@peytonburnham4316)'>https://www.youtube.com/@peytonburnham4316)</a>

I love how heartwarming the game is! The concept is really interesting! :D
btw, great visual and animation!
I'd suggest making a clearer environment visual, especially the indoor level to make it more clear which things have collision and collider, I kinda struggle with that, especially when I need to focus on the letter and surviving the game but keep stumbled upon colliders XD
This is a great heartwarming game! I love your idea and the way you interpreted the theme. I love the music and the pixel art style. I had a great time playing. One thing I might note is that maybe you can give different colors to objects that have a collision. It took me several tries not to get stuck with objects in the house. Good job!
What a heartwarming, short game! The visuals are great, the story is wonderful, and it reminds me of games like Omori in the best way possible! This was a great, unique interpretation of the theme, and I hope you continue to polish and expand it after the jam ends. Great job!
The game presents a creative concept by turning repressed words into a literal quest for self-expression. However, its execution can feel a bit muddled at times. The mechanics for gathering letters and unlocking dialogue are intriguing, but the obstacles and bullet-hell elements aren’t always clearly explained, which can leave you feeling unsure about your next move. The art style and music contribute nicely to the atmosphere, though the overall presentation sometimes feels inconsistent. With a bit more polish and clearer cues, this game could better convey its thoughtful message.
I love your interpretation of the theme! This was a good time!
Full of heart and one of the more interesting takes on the theme I've seen this jam! Finished both routes (Charlotte fan)
surprising amount of heart in such a short game, minor nitpick, wish the color palette in the mind was a bit clearer. I think the first time I played the charlotte route got cut short because I didn't have enough letters so I had to restart. Clever concept though, fun game!
Nice and original game ! I really enjoyed the music and the representation of anxiety !
I'm french with an Azerty keyboard so it was a bit hard to control, arrow keys support would have been nice ;)
I really enjoyed the concept! I'm always super compelled to make people give me honest answers when I ask how they are and I make sure that people want honest answers out of me before I give mine. I really really appreciate your drawing attention to that habit so many of us have.
I enjoyed your gameplay with the overworld lull leading into a bullet hell, but the letters weren't clear to me as means to see them in dialogue. I wasn't sure if I was locked in some way or if there was an arbitrary means to have them appear. Had that been explained in-game somewhere I would've just headhunted the letters for responses and probably made headway sooner. More clear boundaries for obstacles in the home would have been helpful to me as well.
I recognized that the sprite always faced the mouse, and that made perfect sense for the bullet hell section, but I would've liked to see facing based on movement when the mouse wasn't playing a role in gameplay, unless I missed an element of gameplay in the "overworld?"
Thank you for playing! Looking back the letter explanation definitely could've been delivered better someway, the obstacles are something that I've taken note of and will consider in the future
And no you didn't miss any gameplay in the overworld, I'll take the facing based movement of the overworld you mentioned into consideration
One of my favorite iterations on the theme so far! The story and the gameplay alike are nice, simple and efficient, if you plan on polishing this further I'll keep an eye out
I'm seeing in other comments that you needed to shoot letters to "unlock" them for the dialogue options - i thought you just needed to survive the two minutes to gather your courage or something. This is a great design idea so it's a shame it's not conveyed as strongly as it deserves! Perhaps a simple change you can implement is only having the unavailable letters grayed out in the dialogue option? That alone might make it more clear that gathering individual letters is the objective
Hey, so pretty cool game, even tho I think I see some imperfections, like player always facing right and the obstacles in the arena being not properly visible, but hey, imperfections are the things which make everything perfect so great work ;)
This is such a unique twist on the theme with a heartfelt and meaningful message! The gameplay is quite simple, it's basically a bullet hell except the bullets are your repressed words, great stuff!
And I love the idea of collecting letters so you can unlock more dialogue options, you can expand that to a really cool and original full game!
Overall great job on this!
Nice idea, I did spend a lot of time getting stuck on various objects scattered around the house since it wasn't always clear they were obstacles
Love the idea! Very original way to interpret the theme. I ran out of health a bit suddenly, a heathbar would have been nice.
I didn’t really understand what was happening. I got teleported outside again randomly with 30 seconds on the clock.
I love the way you aproached the game jam theme. Really original. However, for some reason i couldn't select what to say on the chats. Great work!! loved the artsyle too :)
Genius idea! I got stuck at the part where you shoot letter, I couldn't figure out what to do. Anyway I love the idea great work!
Ah, so the main point of the game is the player can't say the words that the want to say, and by shooting the letters, they are essentially gathering words to be used for the interaction with the NPC's, there are 2 NPC's you can interact with but you need to have the right amount of letters to progress their stories
Very awesome, love the art! I found the walking animation a bit weird, and I think it would be cool to see more special effects and sound effects. Well done overall.
