Thanks for playing it :D It’s always interesting to see different kinds of player play this game.
It took you some time to understand rules, which is fine and expected. But after reading rules and completing first few recipes you got way more engaged into gameplay. Even got that cute “Ok, one more” after time ran out :D .
Btw, between time that stream happened and you left comment we had post-jam update (0.3). If you in a right mood for little guessing puzzle - check it out ;)
Really cosy :D I love how highly detailed the food sprites are :3 It's like one of those alchemy games but with food, I love it! I made a lot of trash though, I would have liked some information on the dishes I made, they look delicious :D Overall very simple concept but done very well :) Great work!
Really liked the aesthetic and concept of the game. Only real complaint was that there wasn't much initial guidance; perhaps some recipe suggestions/hints of some kind for basic recipes would be nice. But overall quite relaxing, audio was perfectly fitting in my opinion, as was the visual aesthetics. Good work!
Thanks once more to Pontax for the feedback and explanations of Tranquility.! We had similar takes where a calming game would be nice break from all the other submissions which would likely be stressful. Anyway on to the review as promised.
This game made me feel like I was the Let’s Go Gambling! guy because after a while I was just trying pretty much random stuff in hopes of filling out the cookbook. I think I made more goop than the Blobulord… I could sort of read the silhouettes, but I didn’t want to spend more time than I had to so I only filled most of the book.
The dishes and ingredients are super well drawn, 5 stars.B R O T H
The gameplay itself was quite simple and a little boring, but I enjoyed it for quite a while all things considered. I suppose the same could apply to my own game.
I would try to improve the following: increase drag and drop range so that you can flick more reliably.
I would try to add the following: add unique sound effects for different things going in the pot, add a little textbox to the side in the cookbook that tells you about whatever you’re hovering, maybe include a hint in that box for undiscovered dishes. Some kind of “tutorial dish” that the game helps you make, because some people refuse to read the game description.
Lovely little game, very comforting. It would add a lot if you could serve the cooked meals I think and not trash them all the time :)
It took me a while to figure out how to do it. Maybe have a little clue where to place the plate first, because I was waiting until I'd cooked to be able to serve afterwards.
I've cooked a lot of weird dishes ^^. I was happy to find the blueberry cake recipe. I would have liked to have the names of the recipes I found.
Did you try Angry Shepherd?
Very fun game! I've enjoyed finding all the different recipes and mixing things together. As others have said, it would be nice if the unlocked recipes showed you their ingredients, so you know which combination you've already tried. The art is very charming and nice to look at, the artist did a fantastic job! This game was fun, good job!
Hello :) Thank you for playing and congratulations on finding all recipes.
At first, after receiving so many requests for hints in cookbook, we wanted to add more info about unlocked recipes. But, after close inspection and watching few streamers play it from start to finish, we decided that adding even one extra hint would ruin “flow” of current gameplay.
If you have small streamer in mind or just friend that can stream their gameplay via discord, suggest them to play this game. Don’t give too many hints, just explain rules (3-4 ingredients, can use same one multiple times) and make sure they understand controls. After that, sit back relax and enjoy content. Trust me ;)
Glad you had fun
Great game, it look great and it's very fun discovering new recipes!
I think it would be great if you can show the ingredients of the recipes. Also, some react of the customer when the dishes are served, and how the UI change when add the ingredients to the pot!
Liked the game, it's cute! The visuals were polished aside from me cooking sludge most of the time ^-^
Loved the game. Outstanding art! :)
But for the fact that nothing can go wrong, I cooked sludge quite often. :D
Maybe you could add some guidance or hints to make it a bit more like a puzzle and not just a guessing game :) But I loved the idea.
Cute game! I discovered a few recipes, it would be nice if it showed you the ingredients after you make it so you can make it again later if you want (in case we forget) 😄I thought the art and sfx were really good, especially the sounds of the items being dropped into the pot. Well done!!
I love the idea of experimentation to find out the recipes, still I miss a little bit of guidance on how to play but it felt great to discover new recipes. SFX helped a lot to know what to do
