Diventata nota grazie ai singoliF.N.F. (Let's Go) eTomorrow 2,[1][2] ha vinto il premio miglior nuovo artista hip hop del 2022 aiBET Hip Hop Awards ed è stata candidata alGrammy Award alla miglior interpretazione rap del2023.[3][4]
Nata e cresciuta nella città diMemphis, Woods inizia a rappare all'età di 16 anni.[5] A partire dal 2019 pubblica mixtape in maniera indipendente, realizzando due mixtape:Most Likely Up Next eP Status.[6] Nel 2022 inizia a pubblicare alcuni singoli e ottiene una forte popolarità online con il branoF.N.F. (Let's Go),[7] che conquista successivamente un forte successo commerciale raggiungendo la vetta della classificaBillboard relativa ai passaggi nelle radio R&B e hip hop e posizionandosi alla numero 42 dellaBillboard Hot 100.[1][8] Il brano riceve inoltre il plauso della critica, guadagnando una nomination aiGrammy 2023 nella categoria "miglior registrazione rap" e venendo inserita nelle classifiche delle migliori canzoni dell'anno daLos Angeles Times,[9]NPR (che la definisce in assoluto la miglior canzone del 2022),[10]Pitchfork eTime.[11][12]
Nei mesi successivi entra a far parte dell'etichetta diYo Gotti Collective Music Group, a sua volta legata allaInterscope, e figura nella compilation dell'etichettaGangsta Art.[13] Vengono quindi pubblicati un remix diF.N.F. con la collaborazione diLatto e JT delleCity Girls e il singoloTomorrow in due versioni, rispettivamente da solista e conCardi B.[14][15] Quest'ultimo brano raggiunge la top 10 della Billboard Hot 100 e traina la pubblicazione del primo EPAnyways, Life's Great..., che raggiunge la posizione 11 della Billboard 200.[16][17][18] Negli ultimi mesi del 2022, l'artista si esibisce in eventi di rilievo come gliAmerican Music Awards e iBET Hip Hop Awards,[19][20] oltre a vincere il premio "miglior nuovo artista hip hop" proprio ai BET Awards 2022.[3]
Nel 2023 viene nominata a dueiHeartRadio Music Awards, nelle categorie "miglior nuova artista hip hop" e "canzone hip hop dell'anno" perF.N.F.[21] Sempre nel 2023 pubblica i singoliOn Wat U On conMoneybagg Yo eInternet Trolls.[22][23]
Nel giugno 2023, GloRilla è stata nominata nella Freshman Class del 2023 della rivistaXXL.[24] Il 5 aprile successivo GloRilla ha pubblicato un mixtape dal titoloEhhthang Ehhthang.[25]
