Britanny Fousheé, nota semplicemente comeFousheé (Bridgewater,1º agosto1995), è unacantautricestatunitense.
Nata da madregiamaicana,[2] Fousheé si è avvicinata al mondo dellamusica da piccola, studiando tra le varie cose, anchequella classica,chitarra epianoforte.[3] Nell'autunno 2018 è stata concorrente aThe Voice, dove è stata seguita dal coachAdam Levine.[4]
Dopo aver esordito nell'industria discografica nel febbraio 2019 conStay Home, si è fatta conoscere un anno più tardi dopo cheSleepy Hallow ha inciso unfreestyle della suaDeep End; tale versione, dal titoloDeep End Freestyle,[5] è diventata virale durante lapandemia di COVID-19, è apparsa sia nellaBillboard Hot 100 che nellaOfficial Singles Chart,[6][7] ed è stata certificata argento dallaBritish Phonographic Industry e platino dallaRecording Industry Association of America.[8][9] Nel luglio 2020 Fousheé ne ha presentato un'interpretazione da solista della canzone,[10] divenuta un successo principalmente nell'Europa orientale e certificata almeno oro in cinque nazioni.[11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18]Deep End, che le ha fatto guadagnare con un contratto con laRCA, ha anticipato l'uscita del secondoEPTime Machine (2021).[19]
Nel luglio 2021 ha contribuito vocalmente alla tracciaSpecial tratta dall'album in studio diLaylowL'étrange histoire de Mr. Anderson,[20] certificata diamante dallaSyndicat national de l'édition phonographique.[15] La cantante è poi finita in lizza sia per l'esibizione Push dell'anno agliMTV Video Music Awards 2021 che per l'MTV Europe Music Award al miglior artista MTV Push del2021.[21][22]
È stata anche co-autrice diBad Habit diSteve Lacy, brano con cui ha ottenuto la candidatura per ilGrammy Award alla canzone dell'anno del2023;[23] per lo stesso artista ha aperto diversi concerti del suoGive You the World Tour nella seconda metà del 2022.[24]Softcore, il suo LP d'esordio, è stato pubblicato nel novembre 2022 ed è stato accolto positivamente dallacritica specializzata.[25][26]
Il secondo di inediti, dal titoloPointy Heights (2024),[27] è stato promosso da una tournée da headliner in patria negli ultimi mesi dell'anno.[28]
