Bobby “Blue” Bland comincia la propria carriera come membro del gruppo The Beale Streeters.[1] Spesso ci si riferisce a lui con lopseudonimo de "Il leone del blues". Insieme ad artisti comeSam Cooke,Ray Charles, eJunior Parker, Bland ha contribuito a sviluppare un sound che univa lamusica gospel con ilblues e ilR&B.[1]
Bobby Bland è stato inserito nella Blues Hall of Fame nel1981, e nellaRock & Roll Hall of Fame nel1992, e ha ricevuto unGrammy Award alla carriera nel1997.[2]
