EXPLANATION
There have been numerous violations in Hossein Ronaghi’s case. The violations begin from the moment of his arrest and continue during his time in prison. He was repeatedly beaten, wounded, and physically and psychologically tortured by the interrogators. In an attempt to get a forced confession from Hossein Ronaghi, the IRGC intelligence agents physically tortured his brother while psychologically torturing Hossein by forcing him to hear his brother getting tortured. Mr. Ronaghi reported these violations in many letters, but the responsible institutions did not respond. In protest of these violations by the judiciary and the security organizations, he went on several hunger strikes, and the last one led to his freedom. Mr. Ronaghi was arrested in 2021 for his free speech activities and demanding justice.
