|
Drive Angry is a 2011 American "grindhouse"-style action film that starsNicolas Cage as a man who escapes from Hell in order to save his kidnapped infant granddaughter from a cult leader that also murdered his daughter. The film was released in 3D and co-starsAmber Heard,Billy Burke,William Fichtner, andDavid Morse.
The following weapons were used in the filmDrive Angry:
Pistols
Colt M1911A1
John Milton (Nicolas Cage) carries aColt M1911A1 pistol as his sidearm throughout the film. Piper (Amber Heard) also holds this gun on a couple of occasions. Judging from the typical dark grey finish, old safety lever and linear barrel, the gun is a genuine M1911A1 Army model, not a more common Series 70 often used to impersonate the gun. Milton's original handgun was supposedly going to be a .357 Magnum revolver. After the "God Killer" was made, Milton's sidearm was changed to a Colt M1911A1, to be less similar. The gun has two visible jam, exactly when Piper shoots the police officer and then when Milton reloads after shooting a cultist woman driving a pick-up truck.

Colt Gold Cup National Match
Tattooed Guy (Michael Papajohn) holds a stainlessColt Gold Cup National Match during the church scene. The pistol has the unusual combination of a skeleton hammer with standard grip safety, meaning that it is either an Enhanced with the "Duckbill" grip safety replaced, or a standard model with the spurred hammer replaced.

TheSIG-Sauer P226 is held by state troopers during the roadblock scene. Trooper/cultist Katsura (Edrick Browne) also wields this pistol during the climax shootout.

Flashpaper 1911 (Continuity error)
As one of Colorado police officers gets shot by Piper (Amber Heard) during the motel shootout, hisGlock 19 briefly turns into aFlashpaper (or 'Non Gun') 1911. "Non Guns" are a brand name of electronically-operated prop weapons made by ISS (Independent Studio Services). They are safer than real-steel counterparts, and they often substitute them i.e. when blanks are not necessary.
