Updates to Lower-Division IB Requirements
Effective Fall 2023, IB has removed Chem 3A/3AL, Chem 3B/3BL, and Physics 8B from the required lower-division courses. The declaration requirements have also changed so that any student who has completed or is enrolled in IB 77A or 77B can declare IB as their major. Please let an IB advisor know if you have any questions.
Academic Progress Reports
IB uses the Academic Progress Report (APR) in CalCentral to monitor your major requirements. If you notice an error in an IB requirement, submit ourerror report form and an IB advisor will contact you. If a university or college requirement is incorrect, use the online L&S form to report the error to a college advisor.

The IB Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (IB SURE) Program has now opened it's application. This program is for undergraduates or recent undergraduates who are considering a graduate degree in the biological sciences. Program runs from May 31 - Aug 9, 2024. Interested students shouldapply by April 1, 2024.See here for more information.
A new study by IB researchers (Professor Cindy Looy, PhD alum Rosemary Romero, and BA alum Tony Huynh) and collaborators shows that kelp flourished off the Northwest Coast more than 32 million years ago, long before the appearance of modern groups of marine mammals, sea urchins, birds and bivalves that today call the forests home.
