Ennek a gekkónemnek a fajai atrópusokonvilágszerte megtalálhatók.Afrikában ésEurópában aszubtrópusokon is előfordulnak. Azember segítségével vagy úszótörmelékeken utazva, egyes fajok kiváló szigetkolonizálók.[2] Néhány évente újabb fajok kerülnek fel a fajlistára. A lábaiklevelekre emlékeztetnek.[3]
