Apply for or renew a U.S. Passport

Processing times vary depending on demand. If you are traveling within the next two weeks, please see theEmergency Passports section.
Passport services are not available on weekends or on Croatia or U.S. holidays.
RENEWING AN ADULT PASSPORT BY MAIL (BOOK ONLY)
You can renew your U.S. passport by mail if you answer ‘yes’ to ALL 5 statements below:
- You have your passport in your possession to submit with your application
- Your current passport is undamaged (other than normal wear and tear)
- Your current passport was issued when you were age 16 or older (10 year passport validity)
- Your current passport was issued within the last 15 years
- Your current passport was issued in your name or you can document your name change
If you answered ‘yes’ to ALL 5 statements, you areeligible to apply by mail.
If you do not meet all these requirements, please follow the instructions below.
Applicants Age 15 or Under Without Both Parents Present
The DS-3053 is the Statement of Consent for Issuing a Passport to a Child and the DS-5525 is the Statement of Special Family Circumstances.
Applications with both parents not present
Adult Passport Renewal (DS-82)
Renew an existing passport issued to you when you were aged 16 or older.
Passport renewals for adults (DS-82)
Report and Replace Lost/Stolen Passport (DS-64 & DS-11)
Report a passport lost or stolen and replace it.

Find the Correct Form
You must provide one photo with your passport application. All our photo policies apply to both adults and children under age 16. We have a few exceptions to our photo policies for infants.

If your passport is lost or stolen, you are advised to report the loss/theft to the local Croatian police in the area where it occurred. In order to replace the passport, you must appear personally at the Embassy. You should submit your application for a replacement passport as soon as possible after the loss or theft is discovered.

Return by Local Post Office
We return new U.S. passports by mailONLY (within the territory of Croatia). You must bringan addressed padded envelopewith sufficientpostage (Croatian Post registered mail, 3 Euro in postal stamps)to your passport appointment, and/or include it with your mail-in application.
IMPORTANT: Please, DO NOTsend money for postage.
