MTV Movie Awards Nominations Revealed

"The Wolf of Wall Street," "American Hustle" and "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" lead the pack at the annual fan-voted April 13 awards show, hosted by Conan O'Brien.

With awards season over, Oscar heavyweights and box-office juggernauts will vie for the top prizes at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards.

After coming up empty-handed at the Academy Awards, Paramount’sThe Wolf of Wall StreetwithLeonardo DiCaprio and Columbia’sAmerican Hustlefeaturing a top-billed cast will have another shot at taking home hardware at the April event, leading the pack with eight nominations apiece. Following close behind is box-office smashThe Hunger Games: Catching Fire with seven nominations and theJennifer Aniston-Jason Sudeikis comedyWe’re the Millerswith six.

Best picture Oscar winner12 Years a Slave, theAnchorman sequel,Dallas Buyers Club, The Hobbit: The Desolation of SmaugandThis Is the Endeach received four nominations.

Late-night hostConan O’Brien will lead the annual ceremony, which will be broadcast live from L.A. Live’s Nokia Theatre on April 13 at 9 p.m. PT/ET on MTV. Often serving as a kick-off to the summer movie season, the MTV Movie Awards are voted on by the fans. (Voting for most of the categories takes place at www.MovieAwards.MTV.com through April 12, while voting continues during the show for Movie of the Year.)

Several major categories have a heavy Oscar presence, with12 Years a Slave, American HustleandThe Wolf of Wall Streetvying for the top Movie of the Year award against The HobbitandCatching Fire. Best female performance pits four Oscar nominees (Amy Adams, Sandra Bullock,Jennifer Lawrenceand winnerLupita Nyong’o) againstWe’re the MillersJennifer Aniston.The same goes for best male performance with four nominees (DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper, Chiwetel Ejioforand winnerMatthew McConaughey) competing againstCatching Fire’sJosh Hutcherson.
