Yuki TsumugiKnown as an UNESCO heritage silk weaving, the world's most luxurious silk fabric. At a glance it looks humble, but amazingly, all the extra fine yarns are handspun by pinching off from silk floss by fingers. The handspinning takes over 2 or 3 months for producing a bolt of yarns. Oshima TsumugiMost well known luxurious Tsumugi in Japan, for the mud-dyeing tradition and extremely elaborate ikat technique. The ikat minuteness and its virtuosity goes beyond our imagination. KihachijoKihachijo silk is a traditional textile made in Hachijo-jima, a remote volcanic island 280km south of Tokyo. In the island has a history of silk weaving for over 1,000 years. The locals stick to use beautiful 3 colors which are dyed using organic dyes made from local plants. The bright yellow is made from Kariyasu grass, reddish brown from Madami bay tree and deep black from chinquapin tree with volcanic ash mud.Price Range Per Bolt :

Shimoi Nobuhiko's Shinshu TsumugiAmong many weavers from a famous Shinshu Tsumugi in Nagano, we have been constantly working with a weaving artisan, Shimoi Nobuhiko. In his mill, not only designing textile, he dose all the processes from spinning silk and dye using organic dyes to finally weaving by himself. Echigo JofuEchigo Jofu is one of the oldest textile traditions and no doubt the highest quality summer kimomo textile in Japan, made in a heavy snowyfall region, Minamionuma and Ojiya city, Nigata. Using the ramie grow in Hukushima, hand-ply the extremely fine fibers into a hairbreadth yarn, astonishingly which takes more than a year for spining the amount of a kimono bolt. Only 20 bolts are produced annually. It's a hardly seen fantom fabric.Price Range Per Bolt :

Hanaori - Yomitanzan HanaoriOkinawa has a rich diversity of Hanaori traditions - weaving traditional geometric flower patterns with complicated float weave. Yomitanzan Hanaori made in Yomitan village is one of the most elabolate and beautiful Hanaori weavings in Okinawa. In its history over 600 years, was only limited to be worn by the royalties of the Ryukyu dynasity. Kumejima TsumugiKumejima Tsumugi silk is woven in Kume island, about 100 km west of the main island of Okinawa, populated by about 7,000 people. One of the oldest Tsumugi weaving traditions, considered to be the archetype of Tsumugi and Kasuri weaving in Japan. Shizen-fuThere are still very old, primeval textile traditions exsist remote rural areas across Japan. Such textiles made from the bast or wood-fibers of various plants and trees are called Shizen-fu, which include Basho-fu made of Banana tree, Shina-fu made of Shina linden tree, Kudze-fu made of Kuzdu, Shi-fu made of Kozo or Mitsumata, Huji-fu made of wisteria. These materials are originally very strong and hard to handle, require an experienced craftsman and enoumous amount of time.Price Range Per Bolt :

Tango ChirimenTango Chirimen is a most famous and high quality kimono white silk fabric made in Kyotango city, Kyoto. Chirimen refers to the unique crepe texture created by refining/degumming after weaving untwisted raw silk thread for warp with hard-twisted raw silk for weft. Most of kimono textiles are woven in a tanmono unit (about 40cm width and 1280cm long). But, some of our weavers are capable of weaving wider width and longer MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity).
Any types of projects are welcomed, such as interior materials for luxury hotel or fashion design, as well as individual requests of ideal samue or kimono fabrics.

Kyomachiya Showroom in Kyoto
We hold our textile exhibition at the beginning of every month in our traditional Kyomachiya mechant house, just a few minuites walk from Shijo/Karasuma Station, located in a hub of Kyoto. Access
This Kyomachiya with the history of over 100 years itself is a historically valuable architecture in Kyoto, and has a lots of washisu rooms where all rooms are used for been displayed with our kimono fabrics at the exhibition.
In the exhibition, we display almost all of our collections, so it's highly recomended if you would like to see many fabrics at once.
Also, except the exhibition days, we are welcome your visit, as we operate our office weekdays from 8:30 to 17:30.

We can ship fabric samples and swatches of your choice from our textile collections.
Depends on the fabrics, the swatches are very limited due the fabric rarity and scarsity and might only be able to provide you with very small pieces of 2 to 10 cm square.
