Setting up scheduling

How you set up scheduling depends on where users are located -- that is, in the sameDomino® domain or in differentDomino® domains.

About this task

For users in the sameDomino® domain, scheduling is automatically set up for non-clustered and clusteredFree Time databases. You need to create the Resource Reservationsdatabase so that users can search for and reserve resources.

For users in adjacentDomino® domains

For users in non-adjacentDomino® domains

About this task

In order for two non-adjacent domains to do free-timelookups between each other, you need to define a Calendar server inan intermediate domain that is adjacent to both the querying and thetarget domains.

Note: Free-time lookups require reasonablenetwork response time and direct LAN connections from the intermediatedomain to the two separate non-adjacent domains.

Make surethat you have set up non-adjacent domain documents in theDomino® Directory to establishcommunication between the domains.

Procedure

  1. From theDomino® Administrator,click theConfiguration tab.
  2. Choose theDomino® Directoryin theUse Directory on box.
  3. ClickMessaging >Domains, and then open each appropriateNon-adjacent Domain document.
  4. Click theCalendar Information tab,for theRoute requests through calendar server field, enter the name of a calendar server that is in a domain adjacent toboth the querying and the target domains. This server accepts andforwards free time queries from the source to the target non-adjacentdomain.
  5. Save and close the document.
Set up the Resource Reservations database if you want toallow users to search for and reserve resources.
