Setting up scheduling
How you set up scheduling depends on where users are located -- that is, in the sameDomino® domain or in differentDomino® domains.
About this task
For users in the sameDomino® domain,scheduling is automatically set up for non-clustered and clusteredFree Time databases. You need to create the Resource Reservationsdatabase so that users can search for and reserve resources.
For users in adjacentDomino® domains
About this task
Make sure that you have created adjacent domain documentsin theDomino® Directory toestablish communication between the domains.
Procedure
- From theDomino® Administrator,click theConfiguration tab.
- Choose theDomino® Directoryin theUse Directory on box.
- ClickMessaging >Domains, and then open each appropriateAdjacent domain document.
- Click theCalendar Information tab,specify the calendar server name in the adjacent domain that acceptsand processes all scheduling queries for that domain, and then savethe document.
- Set up the Resource Reservations database if you want toallow users to search for and reserve resources.
For users in non-adjacentDomino® domains
About this task
In order for two non-adjacent domains to do free-timelookups between each other, you need to define a Calendar server inan intermediate domain that is adjacent to both the querying and thetarget domains.
Make surethat you have set up non-adjacent domain documents in theDomino® Directory to establishcommunication between the domains.
Procedure
- From theDomino® Administrator,click theConfiguration tab.
- Choose theDomino® Directoryin theUse Directory on box.
- ClickMessaging >Domains, and then open each appropriateNon-adjacent Domain document.
- Click theCalendar Information tab,for theRoute requests through calendar server field,enter the name of a calendar server that is in a domain adjacent toboth the querying and the target domains. This server accepts andforwards free time queries from the source to the target non-adjacentdomain.
- Save and close the document.
