this game is just so good im obsessed just by playing act 01 lol. the art is really pretty and i totally love the music. waiting for act 02!!!! 

I'm finding it hard to put into words how playing this made me feel. I'll start by saying that I absolutely love it! You captured the grief one feels when they lose a loved one perfectly. Which is why I think I felt slightly uncomfortable playing it. In a way I wasn't expecting, your brilliant writing compelled me to relive that grief while putting an impossible twist. How would I feel if I could do what our MC does. If I could just make a near copy of him? It unexpectedly put my mind in a place that made this feel even more personal. In the end I couldn't find a real answer. Still, I enjoyed the journey this suddenly took me on and I look forward to seeing how this ends. Fantastic job and thank you.

There was a game like this on itch where you play as the android, and it's driving me crazy that I can't find it. But, I really enjoyed this game a lot!

I can't download the game. Someone online said that because the dev doesn't have to specify which application it goes for (like windows or mac or ios) it wont download because it doesn't know how? I really want to play this game, could you make it possible for windows? This is my firt ever comment despite using itch.io for areally long time.I really loved playing the game, I got engrossed in the story rapidly but oh my lord the soundtrack is divine and to be honest even if I finished the game I still keep it open on the background for it.I'd love to hear more of it and being able to listen to it whenever and wherever.

The writing as astounding. I actually sobbed at the description of the grief MC experienced, it was visceral and raw. Truly upset me in the best way.

The start of this is absolutely heartbreaking.
And it is THAT much worse than him merely being dead.
It's terrible, but terribly well-written.
And the sweet moments in your memory makes it infinity worse.

This game truly tugs at your heart-strings.

The design is brilliant as well.
You can SEE how the android is not Seto, and yet they are so similar that you have to scroll back to check if that is really true.

It's elegant.

Seto-bot is SO sweet~ ❤️

My only complaint so far is that there is not nearly enough save slots.

It is absolutely cruel to shackle someone with their own consciousness.
If you fear your own creation that much, don't create it.
If you do create it, don't f***ing chain it down! >_<

For someone who desired to create a dream, she's really unwilling to give in to the dream, even tho that was the whole point with her creation.

I feel the creator of this game managed to hit that perfect sweetspot for The Vally of the Uncanny with this story.

I've played android bf games before, yandere ones even, but it never managed to hit that stage where something is both so human-like and yet ever-so-slightly off from it, so as to hit that "this is kinda freaking me out for absolutely no discernible reason" spot.

VERY skillful writing!
And the artwork also adds to that feel.
Overall this is excellent work.

I DO feel the one thing that could have made the story better would be if Seto-bot's POV were removed from the game and only hinted at tho.
Perhaps put into a separate game, or a side-story that unlocks after the main story.

It simply reveals too much, which takes away some of the mystery and intrigue of the main story.

Although I DO wonder if you'll wake up some day and find that all the photos of Seto is replaced with photo-manipulated pictures of Seto-bot.

The difference would be minimalistic of course, not enough to truly spot. But enough for your subconcious to overlay your true memories with memories of Seto-bot.
Pulling you just slightly more into that dream.

Manipulating someone's memories is not actually that difficult. They're vague and fleeting things to begin with. Few humans ever remember them exactly.

But making you believe he is truly Seto will be tricky.
Especially with all those people around you who remember.

The fact that you -want- to believe in it helps tho.

And I look forward to see how skilled at manipulation the creator is (or at least how well they've studied Dark Psychology and the likes, lol) Which will impact the quality of such writing.

Assuming that's the direction the game is going in.

Ultimately tho, this is an absolutely brilliant game!

And I REALLY look forward to see more! ^_^

I also hope it ends up on Steam when it's finished so I can buy it and add it to my collection. ^_^

I actually liked this a lot! I've played a couple of Yandere visual novels but this one is unique. For instance throughout my gameplay, i couldn't help but feel IMMENSELY uncomfortable with Seto (android). The contrast between Seto (android) and Seto (human) almost made me yearn for human Seto to be on screen more.

Also just wanted to add, at first I was annoyed that we didn't get to know much about the human Seto before meeting android Seto, but now I only think thinks ADDED to the story. Android Seto is not our husband and basically another character separate from our husband. So there is still a sense of distrust we, the player, feel when Seto (android) comes to life!

The game really puts you in the perspective of someone watching a Widow yearn for their deceased lover to the point that they'll take any resemblance of that previous love. The music also adds to that sense of danger/dread with some off notes it really enhances the gameplay! In all, I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a dark romance with a HIGH sense of dead and angst!

omg this is sooo good. I love the art, soundtrack, VAs, everything. The writing is top tier and I was feeling every emotion. So excited to follow this game.

I love it so much omg!!! I'm so excited for act 2. Actually already obsessed with the story and Seto, got super sad when act 1 ended. ITS AMAZING!! plus the nsfw scene was CHEFS KISS AND SO IS ALL THE AUDIO!! I jammed out to the title screen, the ost when he got upset, ITS IMMACULATE!!! keep up the good work! We're all excited for act 2. Hell even my alters enjoyed the game, which is rare we all have different taste in games

This game is clearly a labor of love. The music is fantastic, the art, the writing and whatever is voice acted is all on point. Really looking forward to act2!

I finally finished the game and WHEWWWWW this man is going to be the death of me. I am obsessed with him. He is probably the best yandere that I've seen. His possessiveness and love for the player is so raw. The NSFW scene???? Got me so flustered and wanting more. His touch of manipulation towards the end is so subtle but powerful. The player doesn't catch it but WE do which adds to the tension and suspense. The game has a perfect mix of romance and horror. AAAAHHHHH I LOVE SETO SO MUCH <3333 I also really love the other characters! Maki is too cute <3 Her voice and appearance match so well together

dude i cant get past the main menu cuz the song is such a BANGER. literally been jamming tf out for the past 10 minutes 

amazing game so far, can't wait to spend more time with Seto, got to love me a yandere, and an obsessive AI yandere? a really hot one at that? I would 100% just let him take care of me forever, 10/10 would smooch that man :)

Gave this a whirl.. really liked it! Android yandere is definitely new territory for me.

He's Just Away is a fantastic piece of science fiction mixed with dark romance that leaves the player with genuine moral dilemmas throughout the experience.

Beyond its beautiful aesthetic, the game truly shines through the morsels of worldbuilding and characterisation that we're provided during the first act itself. A lot of thought has been put into these aspects, but it doesn't lessen the impact of the grief and confusion we're left with as we're dealing with the consequences of the player characters actions and circumstances.

What truly sealed my personal rating of this game is the characterisation of SETO. He's not your run off the mill murderboy with beautiful locks, but he represents the possibility of harm AI could possess if allowed to "complete their objective" without the proper safeguards in place.

This is definitely a game to look out for, not just for otome lovers, but also for science fiction fans alike.

Amazing game! I truly loved it so much ! I can't wait to see the full game. The voice acting was phenomenal. I just can't describe the feeling I had for the game.

Wow it was really good, I liked how everything is so detailed and how the story develops slowly without forcing anything, a really nice design to see, I love Seto in both facets, although well the android is a little crazy.
