[Resumo] O presente estudo tem como objeto a representação do galego no discurso metalinguístico português dos séculos XVI a XIX. Nesse sentido, trabalhar-se-á aqui sobre um corpus de textos selecionados da tradição metalinguística portuguesa desse período, abrangendo diferentes tipologias textuais. Com base no referido corpus, proceder-se-á ao levantamento de referências explícitas ao galego e à interpretação do significado das mesmas. Nesse levantamento e análise privilegiar-se-ão os âmbitos do conhecimento recíproco e do estatuto do galego relativamente ao português no espaço mais amplo do enquadramento peninsular. Tal abordagem será aqui desenvolvida dentro das linhas metodológicas da Historiografia Linguística e tendo como referência fundamental o trabalho monográfico de Vázquez Corredoira (1998), mas também os estudos de Monteagudo (1988) e de Duarte (2007), sobre o discurso metagramaticográfico acerca do galego no quadro cronológico aqui delimitado
[Abstract] The current paper focuses on the representation of Galician language in Portuguese metalinguistic speech from the 16th to the 19th century. Hence, this essay will work upon a corpus of selected texts from the Portuguese metalinguistic tradition of this period, embracing different textual typologies. Such corpus will be the basis to the survey of explicit references to Galician language, whose interpretation will be attempted here, especially concerning what they convey on reciprocal knowledge and the status of Galician in relation to Portuguese in the broader frame of the Iberian setting. This approach shall be undertaken observing the methodological guidelines of Linguistic Historiography and having as a fundamental reference Vázquez Corredoira (1998) monograph, but also the papers of Monteagudo (1988) and Duarte (2007), on the metagrammaticographical speech on Galician language during the outlined chronological framework.
