Biography[]

Early life[]

Sirin and Caladrius were born into a wizards family. Until the age of fifteen, the twins did not show magical abilities, so they were considered squibs by their parents. However, at the age of fifteen, they were accepted as alate transfer intoHogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry after their ability to harnessancient magic was discovered. They both may have been alate-bloomer.

(1890–1891)[]

Sirin's and Caladrius's journey coincided withRanrok's goblin rebellion and the growing threat of theRookwood Gang, a criminal organisation ofpoachers and extortionists organised byVictor Rookwood, the most notorious underworld player inEurope.Ranrok, on the other hand, was desperate to supplantwizardkind withgoblins as the dominantmagical species by way of discovering thefinal repository, a store of ancient magic created byIsidora Morganach and Ranrok's ancestor,Bragbor.

Meanwhile, Sirin, Caladrius and Eleazar Fig were desperate to untap the true mysteries of twins abilities. They undertook various trials set by theKeepers, who wished to test their worthiness to wield ancient magic. Twins also took opportunities to undermine their enemies along with their Hogwarts friends,Poppy Sweeting,Natsai Onai, andSebastian Sallow.

Facing the threat ofdeath countless times, twins's fight against Rookwood ended in aduel where Rookwood was killed with a reboundedKilling Curse. Shortly afterwards, when Ranrok invaded theKeepers' Caverns beneathHogwarts Castle with the aim of obtaining the final repository, Sirin, Caladrius, Fig, and several other Hogwartsprofessors successfullydefended the castle, and by extension, thewizarding world. Despite her brother's displeasure, Sirin insisted on contained ancient magic within the Repository, thereby becoming a Keeper themselves. By the end of theirfifth year, they were regarded as a hero and saviour of Hogwarts.

After Hogwarts[]

After completing their studies at Hogwarts, Sirin and Caladrius ran astore together for a while. However, a few years later, Sirin left the store to her brother and his family and took up magical architecture. At the same time, she marriedOminis Gaunt, who, in an effort to rid himself of his family's legacy, changed his surname to Starr. In 1901 they had a son,Larus, and in 1942 a granddaughters,Avelyn andSylvia, was born.

Post-mortem and legacy[]

Sirin died in 1972. In the same year, Sylvia gave birth to twins,Ava and Lilith. The eldest girl, Ava, as noted by everyone who knew Sirin, was strikingly similar to her appearance and character. However, to the relief of her parents, Ava did not show any ability to use ancient magic.

• Sepulchria: Sepulchria was aThestral owned by Sirin. Ominis flew on Sepulchria when he accompanied Sirin on her trips.
• Keepers' wand: After completing all the trials set by theKeepers, they permitted twins to create the Keepers' wand from the artefacts above theirPensieves. The wand was created byGerbold Ollivander at the behest of Eleazar Fig. In the future, this wand was passed down from generation to generation as a family heirloom.

Caladrius Starr (b.1874) was awizar who attendedHogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the late19th century. He and his twin sister Sirin possessed the rare ability to perceive and useancient magic, a trait which had been dormant for roughly four-hundred years since the days of theKeepers. This was a form ofmagic that was noticeably more powerful than ordinary magic, thus requiring the watchful mentorship ofProfessorEleazar Fig, who guided and tutored them in their introduction to thewizarding world.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry[]

During his youth, Larus attendedHogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and wassorted intoRavenclaw.

During his years at the school, Larus found theBook of Potions in the library, classified as dangerous by the librarian. In the book, Larus found the lingering spirit of16th century potioneerZygmunt Budge. Zygmunt Budge, still angry centuries later at being unable to enter theWizarding Schools Potions Championship (because he was 14 at the time, three years younger than the minimum age), revealed that he wished to guide Larus to winning the championship using theBook of Potions. Under his assistance, Larus first produced aCure for Boils and cured aHouse-elf.

Wizarding Schools Potions Championship[]

Using aPortkey disguised as a boot, Larus entered theWizarding Schools Potions Championship against aKoldovstoretz student, aMahoutokoro student, and anUagadou student. Larus arrived late, creating a highly unorthodox situation. However, he still were able to participate due to a magical binding contract requiring them to compete.

TheMahoutokoro potions champion first went across the bridge, awakening aRiver Troll. In order to pass, Larus produced aShrinking Solution and used it to incapacitate the troll.Soon after, theKoldovstoretz potions champion arrived at the battlefield but was knocked out by aRed Cap he had disturbed while crossing it. In order to keep up and have any chance at winning, Larus had to safely get through the field. To do this, he brewed aBeautification Potion and used it on the Red Caps to scare them away, and then safely crossed the field.Larus then encountered agiant thick-hided venomous serpent surrounding the hill. He then produced aSleeping Potion to make the serpent fall asleep. The potioneer continued on, now able to cross the hill without the danger of the serpent.

Thus Larus completed the first stage of the championship and moved on to begin the second stage at third place, behind theMahoutokoro potions champion at first and theUagadou potions champion at second.

In the forest, Larus encountered the next challenge, aBanshee in the forest. Wearing ear plugs, Larus avoided the Banshee's cry and poured aLaughing Potion down its throat, reducing the Banshee to harmless laughter.

Larus continued along a path to the Golden Cauldron. However, the path, which led through a cave, was blocked by a swarm ofDoxys. Larus used an Atomiser to sprayDoxycide and open a way through the swarm.

Larus arrived first at the Golden Cauldron, the prize of the Championship. The cauldron was caged and surrounded by a multitude of locks. To obtain the cauldron, a potioneer had to choose the correct lock and open it with a key on first try. Larus brewed and drank a batch ofFelix Felicis, and used its luck to choose the correct lock and unlock the cauldron.

However, the final test before winning the Championship was for the potioneer to use the Golden Cauldron and brew a potion of their own invention. Larus brewed thePotion of All Potential, that could enhance the drinker and realise all that is best of them. With this legendary potion, Larus won the eightiethWizarding Schools Potions Championship.

Ministry of Magic[]

Biography[]

During her youth, Sylvia attendedHogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and wassorted intoGryffindor along with her twin-sisterLynn.

They were given permission to be in theRestricted Section to check out a copy ofBook of Spells. One night, Sylvia and Lynn happened upon theirCharms professor. After being admonished for being there, professor promised not to take any house points and inquired as to what they were doing there. Sylvia and Lynn produced a note indicating that they were permitted to be in that section to check out a copy ofBook of Spells. Professor was impressed that students got permission for such a task, and offered to guide they through the book's contents.

Together, the three explored the old book, the professor giving them occasional advice on how to complete the book's assigned tasks and offering his own opinions on Goshawk's words, as well as awarding house points when Sylvia or Lynn achieved a particularly remarkable task. In time, sisters had learned all the spells the book had to offer, and the professor expressed his pride in his students.

During her time at Hogwarts, Sylvia metPeregrine Starr, her distant relative, whom she eventually married.

At some point during theFirst Wizarding War, she was almost killed or captured, which terrified Peregrine.

She did not believe that the fabledCursed Vaults at Hogwarts truly existed, and appeared to think her oldest son to have been wrong rather than mad.

Sylvia was very strict when it came to upholding theInternational Statute of Wizarding Secrecy and abiding by theMinistry of Magic'sDecree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Sorcery. As a result, she forbade her children from usingmagic outside of school, not even allowing them to ride onbroomsticks before they started at Hogwarts. When her children were younger, she always bought themPeppermint Toads andLiquorice Wands. When her eldest daughter Ava performedwandless magic, shattering one of her tea sets, she thought Jacob had done it until they repeated the feat with a vase a few weeks later when Jacob was at school. Another time, her second daughter Lilith used wandless magic to laugh a flower back to life, which she was pretty pleased with. Upon hearing the news that Jacob disappeared, Sylvia was devastated over the news and cried.
