Lithomancy was a form ofdivination that involved stones. It involved the usage ofthirteen stones each with unique meanings. The stones were held over astar chart and allowed to drop where they may, with the placement of the fallen stones revealing their hidden message.[1]

The Sun stone represented power, energy and life. The Universe stone represented people's place in the grand scheme. The Moon stone inspiration and intuition. TheWater stone represented compassion, healing and cleansing.[1]

Other stones included theSpirit stone,Fire stone, Earth stone,Mars stone,Saturn stone and Air stone. There was noCreature stone.[1]

Lithomancy was taught toseventh-yearDivination students byProfessor Trelawney atHogwarts during the1990–1991 school year.[1]
