Setting up theHACS integration¶
Follow these steps to set up theHACS integration and authenticate it with GitHub.
Prerequisites¶
This guide assumes that you have completed the following steps:
- DownloadedHACS
- Restarted Home Assistant
To set up theHACS integration¶
- In Home Assistant, go toSettings >Devices & services.
Clear your browser cache.
In the bottom right corner, select+ Add integration.


Search forHACS and select it.


Acknowledge the statements and selectSubmit.


Authenticate the integration:
- HACS uses a device OAuth flow for authentication with GitHub.
Copy the device code and select the linkhttps://github.com/login/device.


Sign in to GitHub.
- If you are not signed in to GitHub in your browser, you need to sign up or sign in now to continue the setup.
If you are already signed in, you can skip this part.


Enter the device code you copied in the previous step and selectContinue.


SelectAuthorizeHACS.


Once you see the confirmation screen, you can close the tab and go back to Home Assistant.


AssignHACS to an area and selectFinish.

8. Congrats! You have installed theHACS integration in Home Assistant.- Now, go checkout theconfiguration options.
- Don't forget tosetup a backup process.
