Description[]
There are 76 peyote plants scattered throughout the state ofSan Andreas, located either on land or in the ocean. They work almost identically to thePeyote Plants inGTA V; however, they spawn at different locations. UnlikePlaying Cards andAction Figures, these respawn after roughly 24 in-game hours and there is no final reward given to the player for collecting them all.
The plants can also be eaten while inpassive mode. This way, the player cannot hurt anyone while playing as an animal, nor can they be harmed themselves.
The police will also ignore the player while playing as an animal.
If one is playing with a controller, it will start vibrating once they are near a peyote plant. When consumed, the player starts hallucinating and will pass out, after which they will spawn as a random animal. The selection of animals the player has a chance to spawn as is dictated by where the plant is located – on land or in the ocean. The following is a list of which animals the player can be transformed into:
- Land animals & birds:
- Sea creatures:
There are also two special animals the player can turn into. The peyote plant in the backyard of theClinton Residence will turn the player intoChop, though during their activation in October of 2020, there is a known chance of the peyote instead turning the player into any random animal. InGrapeseed, at the base ofMount Chiliad, there is a plant that will transform the player intoSasquatch if consumed between 03:30 and 08:30 and while the weather is foggy. The Sasquatch has super strength and increased health, and it can swim and use weapons, but unlike in single player cannot drive or use theWeapon Wheel.
The player can end the hallucination at any time, after which they will spawn at the nearest hospital and be awarded 5,000RP. The event also ends if the player dies or goes into water.

Oversights[]
- Rarely, players can open their interaction menu and purchase weapons using the "Ammo" feature while playing as an animal. However, the only weapons that are not automatically removed from the player are throwables. This allows players to throw any item, such as Sticky Bombs, and the body of the animal plays a distorted animation when tossing.
- After turning into an animal, normal players will take significantly less damage to themselves when using explosives or falling, making it virtually impossible to kill themselves with these methods.[1]
- No matter what the "Auto Show Bike Helmet" option in the interaction menu is set to, if the player gets on a motorcycle after ending the hallucination, the character will wear a helmet that has never been purchased.
- Players are able to travel to Cayo Perico while being an animal. The body of the animal will be distorted in the cutscenes and when dancing at the beach party.
- Players are able to enter vehicles while being an animal. Thisvideo explains how to perform the glitch, between 0:18 and 1:22.
