Channel X is aradio station featured inGrand Theft Auto V andGrand Theft Auto Online that playspunk rock.
Description[]
Channel X's playlist consists primarily of punk rock from the 1970s and early 1980s. Similarly toLCHC, it seems to function as a time capsule to the development of theCalifornian punk and hardcore scene, with variances ofcrossover thrash, thrashcore, andpost-hardcore on display. The station initially focused exclusively on Los Angeles-based acts, but the enhanced version also features some acts from Texas andCanada.
It is hosted by seasoned punk veteranKeith Morris, current lead singer inOff! who previously sang forBlack Flag andCircle Jerks. Keith often punctuates songs with tales of his younger days and bitter quips about modern society.
Channel X is likely based on SiriusXM channelFaction; at the time, Faction hosted a program hosted byMarky Ramone calledPunk Rock Blitzkrieg which focused on classic punk rock. However, its name, frequency and playlist could possibly be a tribute to91X, analternative rock station broadcasting intoSan Diego,California, known for being among one of the first radio stations to play punk and alternative rock.
It is one of the preferred stations ofTrevor Philips, theRednecks, and theBlaine County chapter ofThe Lost MC.

Trivia[]
- Liberty City Hardcore is indirectly referenced by Keith as "the punk scene inLiberty City."
- The station's stingers are read by aBritish man and woman, a nod to theLondon punk scene. Keith also directly references this scene in one comment; "there's a punk scene in London".
- In one of the two intros to Black Flag's 1984 track "My War", he opens it with"Black Flag, My War. I know these guys. You're not my friend!", a reference to his ongoing conflict with Black Flag after he left the band.
- It also seems the "You're not my friend!" line was, in fact, a splice taken from the intro dialogue to Frenzel Rhomb's deleted track "You Are Not My Friend". The waveforms of the audio track in question also suggest a splice was made.
- On one of the two DJ intros to Fear's 1985 song "The Mouth Don't Stop", Keith ends it by impersonating the starting vocal inflections of Fear's 1981 song "Let's Have a War". It is highly likely that was a splice taken from the introduction to "Let's Have a War", a song deleted from the final iteration of the station.
