Blaine County is a county featured inGrand Theft Auto V andGrand Theft Auto Online, located in southernSan Andreas, It is bordered byLos Santos County to the south.
Description[]
Blaine County is a geologically diverse county, featuring a large desert region, dense forest and several mountains. Blaine County is the single largest rural area in theGrand Theft Auto series. Blaine County contains the towns ofGrapeseed,Sandy Shores andPaleto Bay, as well as several other smaller settlements. Blaine County is separated from Los Santos County byRoute 68. Despite being a separate county, its policing remains under the jurisdiction of Los Santos, withLos Santos County Sheriff officers patrolling the county's highways.
West Coast Talk Radio is not available in Blaine County. If the player crosses the county line while listening to the station, the signal will be lost. Likewise,Blaine County Talk Radio can only be listened to in Blaine County, and is not available in Los Santos County.
Occasionally, during the nighttime hours on Marina Drive, local civilians can be seen walking over the long sand dune lining the road. If you follow them, they will lead you to adistinctive group of locals inside an old flooded out, and dilapidated building smoking, talking, and listening toRadio Los Santos from a boombox.

Blaine County is an amalgamation of several Southern Californian counties adjacent to Los Angeles County. For example, the eastern desert and more rural areas near theAlamo Sea appear to most closely resemble westernImperial and mainlyRiverside County, whereas the western and more northerly areas such asNorth Chumash andPaleto Bay draw inspiration from southwesternVentura County.
Paleto Forest draws its resemblance from theSan Bernardino National Forest. Many of the northernmost and southernmost areas such asBolingbroke Penitentiary, draw inspiration from southwesternSan Bernardino County. The area is also very mountainous compared to the adjacentLos Santos County.
The county’s geographic placement, being directly north of Los Santos County, is similar to that ofKern County, which directly bordersLos Angeles County to the north.
