Featured Article ALevatine is aLong Sword-class weapon that appears inGolden Sun: The Lost Age andGolden Sun: Dark Dawn. In both games, it can be randomly forged by bringing aMythril Silver to that game's respectiveblacksmith: Sunshine atYallam inThe Lost Age, andObaba atChampa inDark Dawn. In both cases, the Levatine can only be crafted in the late game, and inThe Lost Age in particular, it only has a 10% chance to randomly be forged. Despite this rarity, the Levatine inThe Lost Age is not particularly spectacular because its Unleash effect, Radiant Fire, adds a flat 66Mars-aligned damage and a chance to ignore half of the target'sDefense statistic, as opposed to theSol Blade outright tripling the damage dealt when it unleashes. The Levatine'sDark Dawn incarnation, on the other hand, is heavily improved because it has a chance to unleash Centurion instead; this is aJupiter-aligned attack that applies a x2.4 multiplier and also features the same potential Defense-bypassing effect. Even when it unleashes Radiant Fire in this title, that is also improved via it now additionally striking adjacent targets for partial damage. This makes a Levatine one of the best weapons forTyrell to wield at the end of the game, complementingMatthew's usage of that game's own Sol Blade. (Read more...)
